      Can someone help me with the following question:

      Susan has some $0.50, $0.20 and $0.10 coins. The value of the coins she has is in the ratio 5:21:15. She used 4/7 of the $0.50 coins and 98 of the $0.20 coins and she left $270.40. What is the percentage of $0.50 coins does she has?

      :roll:
      Hi

      Could you share where this question is from?

      I interpret the sentence highlighted in blue as showing the number instead of value of money because it states she uses 98 of the $0.20 coins.

      But I’ve a sum of $247.40 instead of $270.40.

      Best wishes

          A slice of cheesecake cost $4. A bun cost 25% as much as a slice of cheesecake. Alice paid $154 for some slices of cheesecake and buns. 40% of what she bought were buns. How many slices of cheesecake did she buy?

            25% of $4 = $1
            A bun costs $1.

            40% of what she bought were buns. Therefore for every 2 buns, there are 3 cheesecake (2:3). Think of this as a group of buns and cheesecakes. Each group will cost $14 (2 buns = $2, 3 cheesecakes = $12).

            Alice paid $154 altogether. $154/$14=11. There are 11 groups of buns and cheesecakes. Remember each group has 3 cheesescakes.

            3 * 11 = 33

            She bought 33 slices of cheesecake.

                10F + 4B = 1u
                5F + 5B = 1u +$10.50
                x2
                10F + 10B = 2u + $21

                6B= 1u + $21
                1B= 5F + $10.50
                x6
                6B= 30F + $63

                1u + $21 = 30F + $63
                30F- 1u = $63 - $21
                =$42

                15F - 1/2u = $21

                6B = 1U + 15F - 1/2u
                6B = 1/2u + 15F
                6B = 5F + 2B + 15F
                6B = 20F + 2B

                2B = 20F -----> 10F = 1B
                4B = 40F

                50F = 1u
                F = 1/50u
                5B = 1u
                B = 1/5u

                5F + 5B = 5(1/50u) + 5(1/5u)
                = 5/50u + 1u

                5/50u = $10.50
                1u = $10.50 x 10
                = $105

                    Can someone help on the following question:

                    1. Tom and Joe spend a total of $7000 in a shopping spree. 3/5 of the amount spend by Tom was equal to 1/3 of the amount spend by Joe. Who spend more money? How much more?

                    Thank you …

                      3/5 of Tom = 1/3 of Joe
                      3/5 of Tom = 3/9 of Joe
                      Tom --> 5 units
                      Joe --> 9 units
                      Total 14 units

                      Tom --> 5/14 x $7000 = $2500
                      Joe --> $7000 - $2500 = $4500

                      cheers.

                        Hi

                        Could you share the source of the question ? As it is, there are multiple answers, for eg:
                        10 fries --> $5, 1 burger --> $13.00, total amount --> $57
                        or
                        10 fries --> $7.50, 1 burger --> $14.25, total amount --> $64.50

                        cheers.
