        unshaded area = 1/2 area of rectangle
        shaded area = area of quadrant - 1/2 area of rectangle

        perimeter = circumference of quadrant + 2 x radius - 1/2 perimeter of rectangle + radius (diagonal)

        cheers.

          Thanks for the clarification...We are stuck at \" Radius (diagonal)\". It don't seem to be touching from one end to another.

                      Question from NHPS Prelim 2012
                      Hi

                      I’ve not much time for slide now.

                      Try to rearrange the shaded part.

                      Area of shaded part ------- Area of quadrant (r28) – area of triangle (1/2*28*28)

                      Best wishes

                        Question from NHPS Prelim 2012 :imdrowning:
                        @paranoid,
                        This is the working. Will attach image later if needed. Correct me if I am wrong.
                        28+28+14+14=84
                        28+14=42
                        1/2*84*42=1764
                        1/2*22/7*28(squared)=1232
                        1764-1232=532
                        532/4=133
                        1/8*22/7*28(squared)=308
                        308-133=175
                        Answer: 175 πŸ˜‰
