Just curious, since we are now talking about kids doing housework, since how old (are the kids) when you mums start training them to do houseworks? And which houseworks do you start first, and what are the progressions?
Mine started by changing the trash bag in all the rubbish bins at home, 7 in total. Keep clothes from the drying rack, fold clothes and put them back in wardrobe. Lay table with cutlery, place mats before mealtimes. -
Dovetail, at what age do you started them on these?

My kids will carry the I robot to the areas which need vacuuming. Forget about buying that stupid wet wipes to clean the floor  the chemical in the wipe made kitchen so sticky after that. Mopped twice after that and still it was sticky.24hr-mum:
aft maid left my 8 yo offered n managed to cook rice, vacuum flr wf cordless vac cleaner n mop flr wf bona mop n wash plates
can you recommend the cordless vac cleaner? i am looking for one too so that my boy can help me.
.the cord vac cleaner is too much even for me to handle.
Daughter helps to fold clothes and puts them in her cupboard. Either one of them will hang around to help in some way when I hang the wet laundry. I appreciate the little help they provide. :please: -
i am using the electrolux tall cordless vaccum cleaner. cost 289 cos its lithium battery, ie u can charge without waiting for batt to be flat first. there is a cheaper model is normal batt, 168 i think. my girl can use it to vacuum.
there is a handheld vac inside the tall stand to take it out separately to vac.
i use newlife floor detergent. very clean.
i use bona spray mop. very easy to mop flr. kids can do it too. no pail needed cos it has a container for detergent. and the mop is easy to use any time without hvg to mix detergent or pour away water.

I think 7 or 8 if I remember correctly. You decide based on their motor skills, especially the folding clothes part. They usually find it a novelty helping at first. After sometime, you start to have to ask and ask :). But as long as they do when told to, that's a bonus. Also there's no need to give hints that something needs to be done, just ask them to do. I remember putting a whole basket of folded clothes for my boy to bring upstairs by putting at the middle landing of the stairs. Thought he should know what to do but he just walk past it the whole day without doing anything. :slapshead: -
