COP n DSA.

Hi,
Was told by some of friends that for some school the COP appear low because the COP also includes students entering via DSA..e.g. via Sports.
So e.g. School COP 244, but in fact the you need more than 244 if you are not via DSA..how true is this?
if so, does it mean gotta select school afew COP points below your actual result?
