How was the first day of school for all the new Sec 1 Mummies and Daddies? Anyone hung around school to kaypoh? πŸ˜‰

It was such a slow morning, bc all my older kids don't start school until next week. My Sec 1 son didn't want me to walk him to school. I just dropped him off at the roadside at 7.25am and waited until he'd walked in. *hehe*.... then I also walked in and KPO with some other parents. But bc their school starts late - well, I left at 7.45am bc I needed to send my 3yo to school. At that time, the flag-raising hadn't started yet, altho' they'd just announced for the Sec 2/3/4s to file in for assembly.

      Hi phankao,
Passed by the street outside CHS this morning. Very jammed with buses and cars. Is it always So jam in the morning ?
I think so! But I never use that road. All these years, I've only dropped my boys off at the Primary back gate at Pemimpin. The one time it rained, and I tried to use the front gates. I sure learnt my lesson. So even if it rains, I would use the backgate and ask them to run in if there's no spare umbrella. HAHA! Much faster!

Today, I used another side gate too, to drop him off. I know the place very well, lah. Already been sending for 8yrs. Now... another at least 9 more years there!!! And if my youngest chooses to stay on for Secondary as well, then it'd be ANOTHER 4 more yrs. Wah.

If u r still worry , maybe u can try to shadow him instead of bring him to sch.

I will probably go one more time with him tmr. This time, I will ask him to lead the way. :xedfingers: How about u? Ms Tay - how did your son go to school?

DH will drive him to sch everyday but he has to come bk by himself πŸ˜„

Yes, my eldest in JC2. Both she and elder boy don't start school until next Monday.

Nope...quite difficult to get in unless already in the school's IP. Furthermore, she did not take HCL at O-levels, so don't have that extra bonus points. She's at AJC.

That's true. That's why quite a few students I know who aren't good in HCL take Malay as a third lang for the bonus points.

Usually those who are good in lang are good in humanities, and those who are good in sciences are good in math too. Guess it's the arts vs science divide. πŸ˜„ Then you have the brainy ones who are unfazed by anything. :faint:

Hah, mine's not the brainy one. She aced all her sciences/math though. But A-levels is another ballgame... *sigh*. Praying.

Anything this discussion is now very OT . *hehe*
