Anybody has any idea the Edusave Scholarships, Edusave Merit Bursary or the Good Progress Award for GEPpers are awarded based on individual GEP school percentage computation or the entire GEP cohort?

They are based on individual GEP school.

Thanks, MandyMummy!

In that case for a school with 2 classes of GEP & 50 students, the top 10% is only 5 students & top 25% is 13 round to nearest whole number. That's really tough!
Any idea what is good progress award?

This year Edusave Merit Bursary comes with a Certificate of Academic Achievement. At least there is something for keepsake for those who r not eligible. 😄

As for good progress award, this is what I found:

Good Progress Award (GPA)

If your child does not qualify for the Edusave scholarship or merit bursary, but has made significant improvement in his academic performance, he is eligible for the Good Progress Award. The award is given based on the extent of his improvement in his school’s year-end examinations over the previous year.
The awards are given to a maximum of 10% of pupils in each level and stream in every school. Pupils in Primary 1 are excluded from the scheme as there is no basis for comparison. Your child will be selected by his school for this award at the end of the year if he meets the criteria.

The value of the awards are as follows:

$100 for Primary 2 to 3
$150 for Primary 4 to 6
$200 for Secondary
$250 for Junior Colleges/Centralised Institute (JCs/CI)
$400 for Institute of Technical Education (ITE)

Agree, at least there is something to keep unlike P1 and P2 just a letter.
Initially I still thought due to GE, my zone was realigned and hence changed of MP, thinking under this new zone not bad still got cert unlike the last 2 years I kept nothing. 🙂

ooioo, you're wonderful. Thank you sooooo sooooo much for the list. All P4/P5 parents in this site will appreciate your kind gesture in typing out the extensive list of books here.

Thank you. Thank you :))

@Bay - 不用谢 🙂

Just remember this, you do not have to follow the list's order, meaning p4 reads only p4 list. P4 can read any books from p4, 5 or 6 list. Is how much the child understands and is illuminate by the book she reads, thus is better that the genre is one which interests them ang gets absorb by it.

If any 弟弟 or 妹妹 out there is interested and reads books from this list is even better.

Life is a learning journey, you cannot get nothing out of it.

Hi dagong99

Already emailed to you on 22 Nov. Please check your mailbox. Thanks

Yes, received with thanks !

I went to the library, so many of them either on loan or in other libraries or not available at all. Must they read all in the ERP list ? Is there a book review that they must do as part of their programme based on this list ? Any other place that I can find except the library ?
If the book in other libraries, you can make a reservation with a fee & you can collect the book from your designated library.
No, don't have to read all the books on the list. If you prefer to purchase the books, you can go kinokuniya to buy. They have special racks for gifted reader.
oh, didn't realize this... where is it? gifted young readers?how are these differentiated?

It has a sign with \" Gifted Readers\" on it. These shelves are beside the tall ones (young adult fiction) by the wall. The books on the Gifted Readers shelves are usually the Newbery Award Winning books and the classics.
