Thanks.
Yeah I heard it was 40 questions for part 1 and 17 questions for part 2. Total 57.Zeal mummy\" post_id=\"2047362\" time=\"1637572366\" user_id=\"58173:
GA1
My child mentioned :
57 qns.
His exact comments were:
“Had a bit time to check - challenging and fun. “
Congratulations, his comments are positive! 😆
He seemed fine.
(Playing Nintendo now before dinner. )
Actually, I wanted to say : time management is hugely important.
1hr20mins for 57 qns.
Less than 1.5 min per qns !
Mine, watching video streaming of genshin .. (?!?!) think just chill also good.
Actually they broke each of the paper into 2 papers, so the kids have to watch the timing twice per paper. So there’s a total of 4 papers (2EL + 2GA). -

Today was English and EL GA, there were anagrams, words etc. yeah, mine also says she guessed the answers for quite a few..
Is the GA2 tomorrow Math or English based?
I told my girl the wrong thing…I thought the GA today is English-based (anagrams, word brain teasers etc). She is more geared to Math domain so she found the GA1 pretty fun (in a challenging way) today – she totally got killed by the English component though (she had no idea what they were asking…I reckon she tikamed the whole paper lol). If the GA2 tomorrow is English-based Im sure she will have a bigger headache hahaa -
Thanks Zeal mummy for the info. Faint! My girl doesnt even know the GA was English-based LOLOL

Actually she's not wrong not to realise if it was English or Maths GA becoz my son told me that other than anagrams, there was also questions related to patterns with numbers, shapes and Maths operations. So he concluded that today's GA paper wasn't entirely English GA, maybe more like a mixture of both Eng and Maths. 🤷🏻
Thanks Zeal mummy for the info. Faint! My girl doesnt even know the GA was English-based LOLOL

Ah I see thank you…i initially felt a tad bad for giving her the wrong info. Anyway it’s ok as she did not even remember if she answered Eng or Math-based GA questions! All the best to everyone going for the paper tomorrow.

Less than 1.5 min per qns !
I agree. Time management is thr key. GEP syllabus can be hectic with lots projects. If the kids do work too slow might not survive well..maybe this is one of the test...😅 Speed.... -

No problem. 😊 I think the best part of this whole testing exercise is to hear from our kids after, that they enjoyed attempting the variously types of questions and were challenged in a positive way. After all, this is truly a once in a lifetime experience for these 8.5 or 9 year olds. And after tomorrow's session, their year end holidays can finally begin 🥳

Thanks for the information!

My girl said she found GA easy but Eng hard. 😂 she didn’t finish GA last question though. She knew the answer and was about to write it but teacher said “times up” so she froze instead of just taking 1 sec to finish it. Faint.

really heartening to read about your views / stories that you share
grateful for this support and knowing that I’m not alone in this
Recommend this book (i used the audiobook format to listen while driving / on public transport)
"The Collapse of Parenting" by Leonard Sax on NLB Libby or Overdrive
It is quite insightful on the author shares
I learn quite a fair bit from it too.
