CHS' orientation was less than S$20, I think. Not exactly sure what it defrays.

Thot most schools have lockers for each student these days? No additional charge? But small box-sized, only enough for some books, lah, not big human-sized ones.

DHS orientation was $15 - include a T-shirt and 2 school badges, plus dinner on last night of orientation.

Human-sized locker is considered as medium size. Big size locker must be able to act as bomb shelter for a hippo mah.... šŸ˜† :rotflmao:

Pen88... I can fit my right leg in the human size locker la .. :rotflmao:[/quote]Ahhhh......bomb shelter need to fit in the whole hippo.........errrr........see, I must take care of you, not just your leg :slapshead:

Paiseh just checked the invoice again, the locker rental and pad lock was $45 not $65. On top of that paid $55 for the discovery camp and $30 for the orientation package (got free tie, badge etc though)

Did other schools charge for Orientation camp too?
That means your tie and badge are not free, since you actually paid for them.

We also had to pay for the tie this year when it used to be provided free.

            NUS High.

Orientation $10. Includes one T-shirt given during orientation.
Lockers free (at least till now, DS has not asked for extra $ to pay for locker)
Locker big enough to keep one school bag.

All schools have miscellaneous fees of one form or another. Some charge more, some charge less. šŸ˜„

Talking about locker rental, ACSI charges $65 per year with a combination lock provided. Thought that is on the high side.
What are the charges at other schools ?

DHS charges $10 for locker and $5 for lock. Total $15 a year.

juz went to check my gal's old file....
during her time, they only needed to pay $5 for the locker for yr 1
as DHS said that they subsided for yr 1 pupils.

We came up with the idea ourselves.
They had a get together for parents at end of orientation week. When compiling the contact number/email for parents, someone came up with the idea of a facebook group, which is more convenient and probably a better way of communication compared to mass emails.

That's great! šŸ˜„ ACSI parents very 'on' leh. Wish I can do the same at my ds's school.

                      Hi verysuperkiasu,
Maybe next time you go to RI for events, you can get in touch with your DS's classmates' parents and start a facebook group or exchange email/contact details too. šŸ˜‰

Anyone in the same class as your DS in KSP?
DD is in the same class as Funx3's & hipomum's DDs so we also email one another to keep ourselves updated on the class activities. šŸ˜‚

                        $65 is rather steep!

DD has been allocated her locker and has started using it as well.
So far, DD has not asked for any money for the rental.
Will update when I have the info.

                        Hi MummySTay,

RGS charges $15/year for rental of locker and $8 to buy a locker padlock.
This will form part of the 'supplementary fee & other fee' payment, to be deducted by Giro on the 15 Feb. šŸ˜‚
