What are you trying to achieve by telling your child that you (and other parents) think that the teacher is irresponsible?

No matter what, kids have to respect authority whether that authority is WORTHY OR NOT. So even though I don't like nor agree with what the teacher does/says, I will never say anything to downgrade in front of my kids.

Our time in sch, Where got parents question teachers?

        But so common nowadays.

Either the teacher's standard drop, or the parent's standard drop.
Either way, the kids' standard will also drop further next time.
So how to bring up this standard?
        🤷 :?

During OUR time, TEACHERS are like GOD...you don't question them...just listen and agree.
Now, parents are educated. Besides, the fact is that schools ARE passing the baton back to the parents. MOE should seriously review the education system. Why do our kids have to get tuition ?

recently I have silmilar problem with my gal Eng teacher. My gal was sitting with a super mischief gal. When my gal complaint to this Eng teacher, she would tell everyone , don’t complain to me during my lesson !

so this super mischief gal would disturb my gal during Eng lesson only…
She would tear my gal little red dot paper, pull the correction tape etc…
controlling myself now before I talk to the teacher. Dun want to make life difficult for my gal.
By passing such comments would only block the communication btw teachers and students. what if something serious really happen? Cannot understand teachers nowadays??!!

so how do you response to this conversation:

Child: how does h/she(teacher) want us to be responsible when h/she is irresponsible? I’ve lost my respect for h/she.

              Parent: :-??

What if the school is irresponsible?

Emailed the school to suggests some materials that might be useful for students… never reply email.

ok or not ok… at least should give a reply right? or at least direct to the relevant department.

Don’t the school value parent’s feedback?

I emailed to relevent department but they said they can't subscribe as they subscribe another material.
I emailed to school(different topic) but no reply

yeah....how can my boss ask me to be responsible when she is also irresponsible

I dowan to work liao la!

                    my answer would be:

because she is a teacher and you are the student.??

I guess the reasoning behind this is that you need to fulfill your role as a student and not depend on other ppl's behavior

that means you have an internal locus of control not an external one

dunno really how to exprain la....

Hm.. no offence to anyone but how do you define irresponsible.. just because the Teacher does not reply email?

Communication comes in many forms now.. if you feel yours is urgent and need immediate response from the School/Teacher.. isn't it more effective to call..?

Is there a diary book? Parents can also communicate with the Teacher through this mode..

Why would the child comments that the Teacher is irresponsible? On what basis?

Really no offence to anyone.. 😄

how about emailing the principal? Most schools would have the principal's email on their website but if really don't have, ask this forum - many helpful parents 🙂

I think a principal will not condone teachers not replying to emails after a certain number of days. And if you explain that you even ask your child to approach the teacher personally, I am sure any principal worthy of the position will do something about it.
