It really depends on your child. If your child's attention span is short or cannot concentrate or slow in learning, classes may not be useful.
I find that my children improve when they are at lower levels, P1-P3. But P4 onwards I find that it is not so useful cos it is getting harder and they need someone who can cater to their weakness, eg school worksheets. I always have a headache when they asked me for help as I am not able to help them much. So in the end I switch to home tuition for upper primary.

In lower primary my kids took Norman Tien Group. When the elder one shown no sign of improvement in P4, I even let her took the individual lessons as well for 1/2 year but it does not seemed to help. My older one is in Sec 1 now and the younger one in P5 this year. I am satisfied with their current maths tutor as she is experienced and can teach them challegning problem sums. Unless you are familiar with the school syllabus, or else it is better not to teach them yourself as you might confuse them instead, haha… yue jiao yue luan!

My dd’s experience in Norman Tien was good. She seemed to enjoy the lessons (a surprise since she’s not normally keen). I find they are strong in strategies in tackling different kind of problem sums.
