Ya..That's the part which will interest more students to want to go Chung Cheng Main......

I feel distance is a key factor and I always believe if you get to a school at its COP, you will be at the tail end. Give yourself some buffer above the COP so that you can be placed in the top class and that will give you lots of opportunities to stretch your potential.

        Are you strong in HCL?

Both CCHS and AHS are SAP which offer HCL in bilingual environment. If you are strong in HCL, you can use it as L1R5 (I think you can use HCL as L1. You need to check it) and also 2 pt bonus when you go to JC. One of my nephews from CCHS did that some years ago to get into VJC.

Hi, my son got 219 only for his PSLE and i am staying in Serangoon Central. Wanted to put Kuo Chuan as 1st choice but the COP minimum is 226. Any idea will it be risky of not getting? How the sequence of choices of school affecting his chance?

If you’re a boy, why not Maris Stella High? Its in the east, all-boys, SAP school. O level results not too bad too. COP 232+

no chance for MGS. 245 is too far from 250

either CGS or Anderson is equally good....HMT merit - 2 points - could not be used in this case

219 versus 226 is quite far apart

sequences of choices has no impact because you are ranked by your tscore to select the sec school of your choice, in other words, MOE computer will let the student choose the sec school one after another based on the individual's tscore....if you are top, you choose first, followed by next tscore...

so you can put RI first, HCI second, RV 3rd...etc and put as 6th choice the school that will be sure to get in.....it will not affect your chance at all

226 is far from 219...even you put 1st choice also no use, no chance wan

but if you appeal, you can show Kuo Chuan that at least you put them first choice....but to appeal for 7 points difference is very challenging, though not impossible. by all means put it as first choice

it will NOT affect your other choices that will be sure to get in, that is, lower COP than 219...the sequences of your choices will NOT affect the one that your son can get in...so you must include at least one choice that you are sure to get in and you don't mind to go to, in case all appeals are rejected

Thks. But COP 226 was last year’s. It is subject to fluctuation based on demand. Thinking of taking the risk to try Kuo Chuan. 2nd choice Holy Innocents High the cop is 219 same as his score. If the above two cannot get. 3rd choice will be serangoon garden sec. Any comments about the choices?
