Hi, my son got 219 only for his PSLE and i am staying in Serangoon Central. Wanted to put Kuo Chuan as 1st choice but the COP minimum is 226. Any idea will it be risky of not getting? How the sequence of choices of school affecting his chance?

By putting it as a first choice does not increase his chance. It is by merit. The school will take in those with higher score first. His chance of getting into Kuo China is low. You might end up wasting a choice.

        Hi, need some advice,

        My score 258+2
1st choice ---RI (is it realistic? )
2nd choice---HCI (or should i place as 1st choice instead and forgo RI?)
        3rd-6th choice, need some help...
(Victoria sch,ACSI,SJI,Duman high,NJC...not familiar with these school though all are GOOD School) :frustrated:
Chances of getting into HCI is higher than RI. But no harm putting RI as first choice. It is base on merit. By putting RI as your first choice will not increase your chance. At most you end up in HCI. You should put NJC as third choice. It is very near HCI (SAP/IP) follow by VS or DH. Reserve the last 2 choices to schools with COP within 250-255.

There's a chance you won't be able to get into RI with 258, especially as COPs for top schools are likely to go up this year. But if you prefer RI over HCI, go ahead and put RI as first choice and HCI as second choice. If you don't get RI, you'll be posted to the next school down your list which has a vacancy for you given your T-score.

The next few schools you named are all good schools. Consider their curriculum (SAP, A levels or IB Diploma - which do you prefer?) There's a chance that you might get into your 3rd choice school if RI and HCI's COPs go up. So choose that option carefully. Also note that the COP for NJC was 258 last year, DHS 256. ACSI and SJI IB programmes will also be 25X. Make sure you have at least one school in there with a very safe chance of you getting in should you fail in your other options.

            Hi there

My DD score 234. Any advice on which is a good school to apply in Hougang/Serangoon/Sengkang area if I am looking at COP of 230 and below?

Worry the COP will be raise this year as there are so many dragon kids. Those with COP around 233-235 in this area are not increasing classes .

Hi, my daughter gets 242, and she insist on going to Regent Sec with COP 189-227.

Can anyone comment on Regent Sec please…
Also, if anyone knows about Clementi Town Sec and Kranji Sec, pls comment too. Obviously, the last 2 are my choices, I hope to gather more info to see whether to let my daughter has her choice.

With her COP, she can make better choices.....

Pls... no regent... A family member is posted because he only managed to make it to express... Also... I was :yikes: to hear that they are not doing some subjects first because teacher issue, etc.... Frankly, I just do not have a good impression of that school.

Though he made it to top few classes this year, I thought he spent more time on the computer than anything else (like P6 that led his results to suffer). So yes.... we are still very concerned about him. Not just that... the vulgarities we saw on FB targetting at the father whenever father stopped him from computer was :yikes: Yes, such behaviour is probably not surprsing for a teenage while he explore himself but... BTW, the parents are very decent (no vulgarities type and the mum is a nice person too) and they spend alot of time with the family. So definitely not a case of family issue.

Make good use of her score. Try to put Nan Chiau, Ximin follow by Zhonghua as her first 3 choices. Going to a more competitive
environment willll HP to stretch her further academically. Go for schools with COP within 220 -230 for the last 3 choices.

Based on Past Year O level results, COP range (including median) and the already removed Banding Score,
                        1) Bukit Panjang Govt High
                        2) Commonwealth Sec
                        3) Swiss Cottage

For other good qualities that you are looking at, you have to visit the schools or the school websites.
