258 was last year's COP but it only meant the last student who was posted into HCI was at 258. It does not mean all 258 will get into HCI. Please note that last year there were a lot of 258s who appeal to HCI and did not get in.

Similarly, last year 262 was NYGH COP. Again, there were a lot of 262s who appeal to NYGH and did not get in either.

Not trying to \"pour cold water\", but rather to state a fact so parents / kids who are appealing to schools are aware there are such situation. It is always better to emphasize to the kid that appeal is just a hope at this moment. The reality is the school you are posted to, so you should put in the effort to learn about the school that you are posted to on the registration day (and learn to like it too!). If the hope becomes a reality, good for you. Otherwise, you have at least learn to like the school you are posted to.

Hi, my daughter worked extremely hard for PSLE and yet got 252+2 HMT. She cried after receiving her score and made me cry too. She was the school topper in p5 and also received edusave award for the top 5%. Her result is unexpected and all the while we were thinking of only top schools and IP programme. Can you pls guide us with some good Schools with IP to choose?. Can you also suggest whether to appeal for her science and Tamil in which she got a A?. The other 2 subjects is A*. Thanks a lot for helping.
