Kindy or childcare? Childcare teachers got to bath and clean up after kids...Yes, some are looking for teachers desperately. Ntuc kindy is expanding, they are looking many early childhood teacher or assist teacher.
Moe is picky, I won't be surprise. In fact they should do that.
What if they recruit anyhow teacher? Our kids will be the victim.
So, I support moe to be a picky n strict to search a good teacher

Must have very good grads or from local uni? Not sure...There are teachers leaving.. but there are mid-career professionals who can't wait to get in too..

How to apply? Teaching experience as in must be school teacher before? If you have prior teaching experience, can apply directly to school to be an adjunct teacher. Such teachers are hourly paid and you do not need to have long hours like a FT teacher. I have a friend who is an adjunct teacher. She will mark all the worksheets before she goes home since she is paid by the hour.
I find this arrangement works very well for one who wants to have a good work life balance especially those who need to spend time with their own kids after school. -

Many years ago, my sisters taught part time in primary schools. Prior to that, they had no teaching experience. If the procedures remain the same, you can write in directly to the schools you are interested.

Tuition or private schools not counted and not recognised.
relief teachers no need experience.
I'm not sure \"relief teaching\" is counted as experience or not, for adjunct teachers. -

If MOE has doubts about someone's capability (especially conversing in English, I believe), they may place the candidate as an untrained teacher for a year. Thereafter, the principal will recommend to MOE the suitability of the candidate as a teacher. If found suitable, he/she will be sent for the course. -

No prior teaching experience.
