Is GEP really necessary?

Nebbermind:
Really. I wonder where Aaron got that nice maple leave that seemed sufficient to cover all his dignities.
Now, talking about avatar....
Aunties, pls stop staring!!! -
To those who bothered to read my piece, thank you. To those who expressed appreciation, you all have done your part too in this long thread. It takes a LOT to make someone like me bother to post my opinion, but the discussion on this thread was just going round and round like a dog chasing its tail.
For discussion to be fruitful and constructive, everyone should try to keep an open mind. As someone else said, there have been good stuff that came out of this thread, from both camps. No one is right all the time.
Everyone deserves a hearing (or reading in this case). When we discover that the ‘opposing’ camp actually wrote something that is sensible BUT which we can’t counter, don’t take the cowardly route by saying Oh he’s just a kid, or oh she’s beneath me, I won’t bother to respond. That’s like shutting our ears (or eyes in this case) and going lalalalallalalalala just cos someone writes something we don’t agree with.
If we can’t counter it, just take a step back and admit that we might be wrong. If our ego doesn’t allow us to do that, then better to not say anything than to save face by posting a snide remark masked as a jokey post. A thousand cute emoticons can’t hide the intention of the writer from a discerning (discerning doesn’t mean sensitive) reader. -
limlim:
is the fence made of leaves..?
hmmm....my leaf and your chameleon same same colour...must make sure ksi didn't put he chameleon there...else...CHOMP....habis!!! -
Nebbermind:
Doesn't matter...at least from this side of the fence, it seems rather reasonable.
GEP parents....dun fret.
Mainstream mommy here support GEP programme
Personally know some GEP kids.....so I believe there are kids who need such programmes.....be it GEP or super HA cos' such kids really need more to stimulate & guide them. Sometimes, parents may not be resourceful enough (intellectually, financially etc). Dun let their 'powers' go to waste

:goodpost: tck! You've expressed what a lot of us feel and have been trying to voice out over and over again on this forum, only perhaps less eloquently. Thank you.
:skeptical: I feel flattered - not withstanding the gross misrepresentation of the facts here. But I didn't get past this, and I am shy with strangers... kekekeke
Like in a new avatar with a new name , thats all [/quote]Gosh, people here are really paranoid. Not sure if I should have stepped into this minefield. Is there a mafia here I should be wary of?
I am a lurker and have never posted on this forum. It's fun to read and learn but the crowd is kind of too intense for me. But reading this thread was frustrating and that's why I finally bothered to start an account today. C'monlah, life is too short to be this paranoid.
Maybe some kind souls could advise if I should quietly mosey my way out of here. -
