      Lifeishard:
      Hi,

I enquired about the mpm maths before, it seems like the class contain students from k1 to p3? And about 10students in class, one teacher only and he assure me that he will pay more attention to the younger ones....

Is this true and mummies with kids in mpm, are ur kids in this mixed age group class? I like to hav small class size, not more than 5..

Please reccomend. My kid can't work well in stressful environment ESP if teacher keep telling him to do faster or is too fierce...

Cannot agree with you more. Small class size is very important especially for subjects like Math. Maybe you can checkout JEI/PSLE Math, they limit their class size to 6.

        Hi sarahlim,

Thanks for ur reco, are ur kids in jei/psle maths?
I checked their web, looks good but didn’t find any review on it.,
There are only 3 centers, far from my place. My kid in k1, has strong interest in maths now…,

            hi all

can i ask parents with children in CMA a question ?

I recently sent my son for a trial… I can’t help but feel disturbed that all the teachers do not speak good english… and i mean it. I don’t mean to criticise whatsoever but i was quite shocked at their inability to speak in proper english & their english is "heavily-accented" w Mandarin - are they not locals? Even the local teacher’s english is heavily punctuated with singlish (lotsa lah, lei & loh… and i mean a lot of it). I am guilty of punctuating my sentences with singlish at times so i m forgiving when some teachers use a bit of it… but when it becomes too much, I worry if my son will start to speak this way!

Anyone care to enlighten? Thanks v much!

                Hi Maisy

Tink you should post yr question under CMA not MPM topic. The CMA I went still quite alright, mostly china, few indian, and got one philipino. The lah, lei & loh are mainly we, Singaporean, hee hee.

                Thanks, gsk

My kid’s MPM teacher doesn’t speak gd English too. But I’m ok as she is strict and the whole idea for me is to put him there to get used to focus for 2 hrs.

Surprised that he actually did it whereas at home, he used to write a few lines and throw the pencil away.

Now, he said he wants to learn.

Just went for an assessment in one of the mpm centre. Was surprise that I’m require to pay for the diagnostic test. $10/pax.

Kind of feeling very disappointed as this was not mention over the phone.

The class was a combination of 3 levels p1,p3 and p4. The classroom was very rowdy just like a playground. How do u expect the kids to concentrate in doing Maths sum?
