Hi LJHLJH, I dun think u need to worry as I think they will let your son start from whichever level they think he should after they assess him. In addition, you can choose 2 lessons of 1 hr each per week if you think he has short attention span. I just sign my daughter up for MPM and she is starting this coming week so hope that it will help her in her maths too.

        Hi Sydney,

Thanks for your reply! Are any of your kids in Learning Lab, Andrew Er or Sponge? Feedback?

        Hi Sydney,

For pri school, where do you suggest to take for Maths?
I think MPM or enopi is ok if you are talking about pre-school. It helps to build up the fundamental arithematic skills. However, I agree with 24-hr mum, once in primary school, should look for something different as Singapore math are heuristic.

In this forum, Learning Lab, Andrew Er and Sponge are highly recommended.

        My suggestion:
        > Choose a centre that specialises in Math and not one that do everything e.g. Mindstretcher etc.
        > Choose a class that has low student: teacher ratio. Unlike languages, Math is a subject that cannot be taught effectively in a class of varied capabilities.
        > If possible choose a centre that do heuristic problem solving because this usually is the biggest challenge for children.
Hi i3mum

Hv checked. Andrew Er and Sponge meant for upper Pri, eg P3 / P4. Yours next year only P1, so only learning lab, u may consider for this case.

          Regards

Don’t know about AE, between sponge and LB, I propose sponge as it specialises in Math. LB is more known for English.

                      Wonder anyone can clarify?

I just found out MPM actually has referral discount of $40 if the current student recommend for new students to sign up, but it's only the current student (not the new student) will get the $40 & must be from the same branch.

                      Is it true?
