Which books are your son doing now?ksks3mum:
my son completed 1/2 of each book ( total 2 bks) in 1 hr, Is this reasonable?
My son takes about 1 hr too...he's at book 29 and 30.
For both books total 19 pages he completed in 1 hr time.
Yes i know is not about speed but i rather have my boy complete all pages of 2 books in mpm classroom rather then bring it home to do. My son simply wouldn't sit still at home and he cannot concentrate if at home. I must have cane standby..........
Am not sure about what book - its SG075 & SG076. He did not start from 1st book. He's K2 now. -
soursop:
Why not, am curious tooHI Snow1976,
I have pm you. Better not to talk about these \"complaints\" openly. -
BigDevil:
If me i'll ask for it.

You should have the materials with you for 2 wks. The first wk is when your child brings it home to complete the bk. The teachers will return the bks when they completed marking and you will bring it back to them during the next lesson.
So far we only get to keep the books for 1 week.
DS will bring the 2 books back, work on them, and hand them in
at the beginning of the next class....and that's it! We don't see
them coming back to us again. That's why I made sure I looked
through DS' work before the books are given back to the centre.
Perhaps each centre has different practice?
My DS is in the Bishan branch. -

If the child completed first page till green line for 2 materials in 1 hr. There is still half an hour for him to complete the homework part. It shouldn’t be an issue.
Sometimes it is the kid’s request that she/he doesn’t want to continue. Reason: tired.
You as parents can reinforce to your kids ‘if there is still time, please do the homework part.’ -

No completed half only i.e page 1 to 9 or 10 of each book. They will keep 1/2 of it homework. Teacher will message us to pick him up. -
As long as the child completes the required work in the class. He/she may goes home.
you can make known your request to the teacher. Because some parents insist that homework has to be done at home. There are funny funny requests by all sort of people.
Some kids never brings the materials home, parents never protest.
Some kids do only 1 material in 1 week due to poor learning attitude, parents never protest. -
I believe the homework is intended for reinforcement. It’s more effective when the child can recall what he had done in class and then tries it out on his own at home. That way, the teacher also can assess whether he is able to perform without guidance. The 2nd part of the booklet mirrors the first part of the book so if the child should be able to do it on his own at home. If he isn’t able to do it, then it means there is a gap to be addressed by the teacher when the teacher reviews the homework.

Yup, that's the intention for the \"homework\".
I have pm you becos I've some qns abt MPM, hope you don't mind. -
Hi,
I’m thinking of transferring my DD from jelic to mpm (different branch).
May I know does she need to take any test to assess at which level of mpm does she go to? The mpm teacher we spoke to claim no test is needed…
She’s 5yo & has been attending jelic for about 1+years.
