Yes I agree that their chinese language suck as is below national level. But other subject like English Maths and Science is above national level. How do you fair St Stephen School vs MacPherson Primary School. I would appreciate your genuine feedback on these 2 schools. My son is currently in MacPherson Primary School. He is born in the Year of Dragon so chances of transferring to other good school near my house ie. Kong Hwa, Geylang Methoist, Hong Wen, Ngee Ann are very slim. I have opted for St Stephen School because it is affliated to St Joesphe Institution and St Patrick School

I do agree that St Stephen's is definitely a step up from MacPherson, but I'm not sure if getting your son out at this point to go to St Stephen just for the affiliation with SJI is really worth the disruption to his life. Switching schools can be very traumatic for children as he has to rebuild his connections with new classmates who already have their cliques. If he is doing well in MacPherson, why not encourage him to work harder to get into those secondary schools on his own merit?

        Hi,

I am considering Temasek Pri as it is the school closest to my place (within 1km). Please give me some feedback on this school if your child is from Temasek. I am not sure if i shd register in temasek or red swastika (within 2km).

Do I have to ballot in Phrase C (temasek), if I am within 1km?

        Thank you!
For Temasek Primary school, it is better for those who below 1 km or may be below 2 km to do the PV or else you will be in the balloting pot in 2C and above 1Km you can forget about registration in 2C.

This year 2008 in 2B has 54 vacancies and 67 registered but 52 are taken by the 1km and 2km. So you left 2 vacancies for 15 - so balloting.

If you are below 1 km, my advice please do PV. I got a place for my kid in 2B and I do PV even I am within the 1 km range.

May be next year (2009), there will be balloting for the 2km range.

Hope you find this info useful and good luck.

        GW

          Hi moms and dads..

My son is currently in St Stephens' SSS P5. The criteria of going to the school was based on both academic and sports achievements which met our criteria. 2nd Language is a concern to most parents but otherwise the rest of the subjects are doing good. The school is strong Soccer (champs in the east zone and now competing in the national), Atheletic (champs in the overall C division boys in Singapore), Cricket (Champs), Swimming & etc...

I also like the mission school culture, there are constant important values that does mould the kid and yes i do see the diff with my daughter who is in Raffles Girls' Pr.

For parents whose child is sports oriented and living in the East, SSS is the choice. My child and i have very strong bonding with the school, teachers, coaches and all the sports moms.. Together We are enjoying this journey alot ! :))

Does anyone know if Red Swastika accept PV? Can’t find it on their website and in MBS case, they do not accept PV except parents of existing students.

Red Swastika accepts PVs. Note that this year P1 registration (2002 kids) phrase 2B outside 2km need balloting

However, cut off date is over for those registering for P1 in 2009 (2003 kids)

2004 kids better start enquiring now :!:

I am an alumni of Red Swastika. I am still considering whether to put him there. Is it important to go to a good school?
