Hi Ming, Seems like this is already a \"fact\" that has been made known... I dnt know Siti and she got the same info as me....no idea why the school have not yet made official announcement,dnt know whether they did mention on orientation day cos I was not there. Perhaps calling the office for info wuld be a good idea....but be prepared for negative response as the school may not want to reveal yet... Ive heard of other schools putting up sign board to inform of relocation during p1 registration,maybe and hopefully they will do that too.
Btw,you still shifting to clementi?[/quote]Hi Ming.. i knew from some friends who are in the sch PVG. Nothg was informed during the orientation. If you happen to get reconfirmation from the sch, do post it here. I don't mind if the sch moves to Alexandra area.. at least i can hang ard at vivo while waitg for them.. hehehe

My girl would come home and complain about that Math teacher EVERYDAY till I got so tired of it that at one point, I stopped processing what she told me about that teacher (almost the same thing everyday - scolded us again, made us stand for the whole period..). I think I recalled her telling me something like that but I didn't know it was for a whole week until I met few of her classmates' parents. We didn't complain subsequently because after a while, you kind of know some teachers hardly teach anyway.


Heard that RGPS is going to move next year. At least for 2 years to upgrade the current premises.

And heard that the holding school is at Alexandra Road (former ACJC & recently used by River Valley High).

SA1 is the mid-year exams. RGPS does not have CAs, only 2 SAs a year. SA = Semestral Assessment.
It is true that teachers don't really teach in RGPS though I have to say that my girl's Eng and Math teachers last year were VERY good. Her Science teacher was quite hopeless and in P5, her Math teacher (another Math teacher) actually had a \"strike\" for a week as a punishment for the class as he found them noisy. And that happened just 2 weeks before her SA.

Oh MY GOD ! getting jitters.. now that my dd is in p6. I am quite fearful. I noe it's juz a 2nd wk but she hasn't been getting as much exercises as my other friends in other schs. She juz told me yest that last yr p5 best class gotten all As and A* for P5 eng coz they did tons of mock exams. I've got feedback frm graduated parents of p6 last yr that GREAT attention given to GEP & Best class.. mainstream class DIY. her gal gotten 205 and now end up in neighbourhood sch in Yishun.

I am really curious how the mainstream classes did. What's the average aggregate. GEP classes are deemed to be top students but the majority are still the mainstream. They ought to be given equal treatment rite? *sigh*

I kaypoh here a bit: hubby recently met up with an old colleague (staying near RGPS) who have two daughters (P4 and P1) in RGPS. He shakes his head when he talks about his daughter's teachers who really practise \"Teach less\", \"Learn more\" on your own.

I SHAKE HEAD long time ago and still SHAKING !! the only way to complement is tuition tuition tuition... ! sigh

Hi CAREBEAR .. I'm a parent of TKSS too. Me & DS hv only gd thgs to talk abt. Awesome support frm teachers & parents ! We really feel welcomed. The security uncles very approachable, friendly and the pakcik real joker la..


Their O level result is SUPERB !! BRAVO to our Teachers ! Hope our kids will do well too

For those of you with lower primary kids participating in cca, do you rely on school bus or bring them yourselves ?

Hi Siti, Wow 4 kids! tot it was 3 initially, they seem quite disciplined... can imagine the stress u hv to put up with now, one after another. I guess u have to pay attention more to yr P6 and P1 girl for now. Anyway u seem to be coping quite well, :celebrate: lucky the ages are well spaced out.

BTW, how long has yr grl been with the basketball team, understand its not easy to get in, cnt be fat etc....my grl is in p4 and has dropped the idea of joining basketball, she enquired abt softball but it seems like there are too many applicants. I would very much prefer her to do a cca outside school hours at our own time instead of hanging around after school till 2.30 to start her cca. I have considered fencing as there are many of her friends doing that outside and need only to report once a month in school to be assessed. -- Do u have any idea whether participation in either ballet or arts at N A F A is recognised by raffles and whether it will b reflected in the report book?

Hi moonee, she joined since in P3. W Sch team since P4/5. Btw, she's in track and field outside sch hrs too. It's one of those that can is approved. Juz need to inform sch and submit attendance sheet. Check with the sch on the NAFA before u commit :). I wanted to enrol Arts but gosh ! i'm the 1500 on waitlist !! PFFFTTT

I somehow get the feeling that they are not v parent friendly,but hey I hope i'm proven wrong.
BTW,how are b'days celebratd in RGPS classrooms? treats allowed for classmates?

My eldest said it's not allowed to celebrate in sch-no time to squeeze some fun in sch-can brg goodie bags but no food,cake etc to avoid any food allergies on some kids .. but we used to get invites to Hard Rock Cafe, MCs, their home but some lucky gals were invited to Ritz Carlton Hotel for thier friends party almost every yr. :roll: . Bday parties are also time for parents to network. :P.
