Hi, if you can't wait for SA1... alternatively u can write in her handbook for her subject teachers email add & hp no. (u can try ur luck:)). Ask you DD to pass to form teacher to read. I have received 1 email add frm Ms Joyce Tan (mth tchr). Pending for the rest. I find its not parent-tchrs friendly here (sowie) unlike my SS1 pri sch (st. stephen) anytime anyday we are free to speak w the teachers or call them. I guess it's a diff sch values. And i kind of miss alot in RGPS (i had so much fun w my boy & his sch now that he's in Sec 1). But u can join the rgps pvg.. u kind of get some perks to be ard the sch more often than non-pvg:).

Tx,Siti πŸ˜„ Will do that, coz I have seen some email ids in the timetable list. Was kind of unsure whether it was ok to write..
I somehow get the feeling that they are not v parent friendly, but hey I hope i'm proven wrong.
BTW,how are b'days celebratd in RGPS classrooms? treats allowed for classmates?

        Hi,

Thanks for all your feedback. Has been realy useful. My DD is in 1C. She is having her Spelling Test today. She got the list a couple of days back and when I asked her to learn the spelling, she told me, \" No need to learn. Its open book and you can copy  \". Anyways, got her to learn and told her to verify using the list after she writes the spelling. πŸ˜„

Teachers' email: I dd got her new timetable yday with clarity on what's \"CT\" and \"CME\" etc (should have already done so for a start), anyway, you can see the email address of her teachers at the back of this TT.

Spelling: For these 2 weeks, it's \"open book spelling\" My girl said that the words are already on the board when her teacher gave the class spelling. Naturally, all girls got it all correct πŸ™‚

Questions: I think the teacher already can anticipate the next day TT and advise parents on what to bring, like my girl having ART today but was not told if they should bring drawing block, crayon, colour pencil. As for Chinese, should the kid bring the box of word cards? On Wednesday, there was no PE but kids wore the t-shirt as the TT stated that ther's PE lesson.

alamak! open book spelling. Haha. DD did not mention that just happily told me she got them all correct. If the words are there for her to copy and she still gets it wrong then she will get it from me cos it will obviously be due to distraction or carelessness. Anyway, I will still get her to learn the words. No harm there.

So far I asked dd if the teacher has gone through anything in their textbooks and the answer was no. I was told that RGPS tend not to use the textbooks as much.

My eldest said it's not allowed to celebrate in sch-no time to squeeze some fun in sch-can brg goodie bags but no food, cake etc to avoid any food allergies on some kids πŸ™‚ .. but we used to get invites to Hard Rock Cafe, MCs, their home but some lucky gals were invited to Ritz Carlton Hotel for thier friends party almost every yr. . Bday parties are also time for parents to network. :P.

Hi Siti, Just curious, yr other grl is now in P6. How did u handle her h/w, spelling and enrichment classes when she was in P1, was she more independent than DD3?

Hi Moonee, i've been keepg the same routine for pm session w abit of adjustment for DD3. DD2 came hme at 7.15pm - dinner - chg - sch hw (no tuition)-slept at 9-woke up at 9, breakie, chg & spellg test-R&R.( now all Sleeps ard 10.30pm w 4 children n it takes a while for my 3 gals to share stories on bed before snooze). DD2 had Islamic class on Sat am & ballet at NAFA on Sun am. I think it's easier w DD2 coz sibling no. 3 & 4 were not ard still :). DD2 & DD3 doesn't do ballet anymore coz we realise their interest is in sports. DD2 basketball sch team & DD3 in tennis. when CCA for tennis in sch resumes, she will join.

W DD3, she has a lil' more distraction frm DD4 (K1) so it's challenging to get her on routine.. coz DD4 wants to be entertained but i'll cope sooner . DD2 was much more manageable! πŸ˜‰

Hi Siti, Wow 4 kids! tot it was 3 initially, they seem quite disciplined... πŸ˜„ can imagine the stress u hv to put up with now, one after another. I guess u have to pay attention more to yr P6 and P1 girl for now. Anyway u seem to be coping quite well, :celebrate: lucky the ages are well spaced out.
BTW, how long has yr grl been with the basketball team, understand its not easy to get in, cnt be fat etc....my grl is in p4 and has dropped the idea of joining basketball, she enquired abt softball but it seems like there are too many applicants. I would very much prefer her to do a cca outside school hours at our own time instead of hanging around after school till 2.30 to start her cca. I have considered fencing as there are many of her friends doing that outside and need only to report once a month in school to be assessed. -- Do u have any idea whether participation in either ballet or arts at N A F A is recognised by raffles and whether it will b reflected in the report book?

Today is the start of week 2, maybe some \"serious\" work will be begin soon.....honeymoon is over

btw, any parents here staying at around clementi area with girls in morning session, can help to share normally what time your girl need to board the school bus ?

Currently I am staying quite far from the school, need to start planning if needs to shift. The school bus driver told me that at our current place, he will fetch at 5.40am
