DD had that same list as well. And was tested yesterday. She said got got all correct but the spelling book was not returned.
Spelling practice is today for my dd: garden, rose, caterpillar, home, outside, happy, birthday, red, dog, bird
Dictation: I see a rose in the garden
It takes a little getting use to. The communication seem 1 way. Teachers tell us wat to bring, etc but wonder if I drop a note in her handbook, will the teachers respond.
But no need now lah, no issues, just wondering. -

Yes,it does..thanksVgb, better to send her an email to schedule a time. It's first week of school and the admin work would probably pile up from here.
There're 2 PTC after SA1 and SA2. Hope that helps! -
sitialawiya:
Hi, if you can't wait for SA1... alternatively u can write in her handbook for her subject teachers email add & hp no. (u can try ur luck:)). Ask you DD to pass to form teacher to read. I have received 1 email add frm Ms Joyce Tan (mth tchr). Pending for the rest. I find its not parent-tchrs friendly here (sowie) unlike my SS1 pri sch (st. stephen) anytime anyday we are free to speak w the teachers or call them. I guess it's a diff sch values. And i kind of miss alot in RGPS (i had so much fun w my boy & his sch now that he's in Sec 1). But u can join the rgps pvg.. u kind of get some perks to be ard the sch more often than non-pvg:).
Tx,Siti
Will do that, coz I have seen some email ids in the timetable list. Was kind of unsure whether it was ok to write..
I somehow get the feeling that they are not v parent friendly, but hey I hope i'm proven wrong.
BTW,how are b'days celebratd in RGPS classrooms? treats allowed for classmates? -
Hi,
Thanks for all your feedback. Has been realy useful. My DD is in 1C. She is having her Spelling Test today. She got the list a couple of days back and when I asked her to learn the spelling, she told me, \" No need to learn. Its open book and you can copy  \". Anyways, got her to learn and told her to verify using the list after she writes the spelling.

Teachers' email: I dd got her new timetable yday with clarity on what's \"CT\" and \"CME\" etc (should have already done so for a start), anyway, you can see the email address of her teachers at the back of this TT.
Spelling: For these 2 weeks, it's \"open book spelling\" My girl said that the words are already on the board when her teacher gave the class spelling. Naturally, all girls got it all correct
Questions: I think the teacher already can anticipate the next day TT and advise parents on what to bring, like my girl having ART today but was not told if they should bring drawing block, crayon, colour pencil. As for Chinese, should the kid bring the box of word cards? On Wednesday, there was no PE but kids wore the t-shirt as the TT stated that ther's PE lesson. -
alamak! open book spelling. Haha. DD did not mention that just happily told me she got them all correct. If the words are there for her to copy and she still gets it wrong then she will get it from me cos it will obviously be due to distraction or carelessness. Anyway, I will still get her to learn the words. No harm there.
So far I asked dd if the teacher has gone through anything in their textbooks and the answer was no. I was told that RGPS tend not to use the textbooks as much. -

My eldest said it's not allowed to celebrate in sch-no time to squeeze some fun in sch-can brg goodie bags but no food, cake etc to avoid any food allergies on some kidsTx,Siti
