              Hi starlight1968sg,

I noticed that you were asking about composition and comprehension strategies. I am an educator at The Alternative Story and would like to give some input to help:)

For composition writing, many children find it hard to flesh out the story. Their stories tend to be rather 'flat'. One way to help them is to watch videos on youtube with them, videos like episodes from Rescue 911 and show them how the story develops, how the tension is slowly increased. The problem usually does not get solved immediately, it has to get worse before it gets better.

The videos provide a mental image for them to understand how tension is built, you can then help provide the appropriate vocabulary for them to use when they 'stretch' the tension. You can also teach them to vary their sentence structure so the story has a more natural feel to it. 😄

                      Hi reddotresident,

Few months back, I heard about this tuition place that was higly recommended and introduced my colleague’s daughter to it for English Creatve Writing and Maths. Within 2 months, her Maths improved!
She also started to have an interest in studying and even wants to print papers to practise on her own. My colleague has never seen her daughter so motivated.

If you are keen, I can pm you the details.
