I decided not to post anything on this thread due to the very negative tone but for the above, I must say :goodpost:
Whatever concerns the bad behaviour of foreign talents, the tone is always very negative.
No wonder S'poreans are deemed as anti-FT these days. -

I believe some of us who were enraged by the Ma guy’s reckless action are not anti-foreigners. At least I speak for myself – if the Ferrari was driven by a sporean, I would have been equally pissed. To me, it’s the behaviour, NOT the nationality.
I’m glad the lucky cab driver with the in-car camera came forward to reveal the truth. And I hope the truth will help the victims get some closure and compensation. -
True, I don’t think it’s a foreigner thing though some people may get all excited by it. One thing for me, If that driver were a Singaporean, Victim won’t have to wonder if someone skipping town to get out paying liability.
For me, it’s only becos the driver family had not said a word of apology to the victims. Granted they lost a family member, but they should be cognizant WHO caused the whole thing driving at fast speeds in the middle of the night. -

Totally agree! It's the behavior and not nationality. Anyway, god is too good to him.I believe some of us who were enraged by the Ma guy's reckless action are not anti-foreigners. The F family, I am equally pissed off with their comment to the press and to date, still no apology to cabby's family. -
I agree in this accident nationality should not be the issue .
Many of us feel that.
Then how come more than half of the post seem to have the PRC factor mentioned :? -
Angelight:
I am pissed by some ugly Singaporeans too. No need to look far, just the MRT will do. The Ferrari family owes the victims an apology. Till now, there hasn't been any, and I doubt there will ever be.I believe some of us who were enraged by the Ma guy's reckless action are not anti-foreigners. Without reading through this thread, here are my own thoughts:
1. Why do we need Ferraris and Lambourghinis in Singapore? For what? Traffic are horrendous nowadays, cannot run at all, why own such super sports car? Owners of such sports cars, don’t tell me they are not tempted to speed? So how to speed in SG? Only night time, hence the tragedy… its like those hell-riders of old…
2. On the first day of the news in the papers, before even the camera capturing the sad accident was publicize, I read the facts and think to myself - mmm a Ferrari driver, a taxi-driver with a passenger, 2 deaths (subsequently 3). Deaths involve usually means high-speeding is involved. Which of these 2 cars you think is the most likely to speed? Does not take a rocket scientist to deduce it is most likely the sports car. So when the next day the video appeared, it seems that it was the case.
3. Next, it is quite interesting to me that in the newspaper reporting, the reporter took pains to report the exact nationalities of those involved. Heart pain for the poor taxi-driver, the unfortunate young Japanese lady and yes…ANGER at that rich young man from China!
Why my anger? A bit complicated, my thoughts, which seems to ultimately blame it on the govt. for going all out to attract the rich into SG. Look what the rich has brought to SG - high inflation to housing and now one who owns a sports car and drove it recklessly on our tiny roads. Not familiar with our road "systems" and causing deaths to one of our own citizen and the poor foreign girl.
I am sorry I could not resolve my anger although I much regret that the young man has lost his life as well… -
Over the past few days, I had a few times the luck to be one of the first cars to stop directly in front of the traffic lights. I notice that after the light turned green, the cars in the first row didn't move off immediately (myself included). I subconsciously waited for others cars to move off first unlike previously when I would just zoomed off.
Maybe it is the effect of the video,

Aiya. Chao Ah Tiong. Come Singapore haolian their money only. Smash the Ferrari at such high speeds at Singaporean taxis in Singapore are like they are trying to flaunt IN OUR FACE and shout: "WAH. SEE ME AH. I DRIVE FERRARI LEH. THIS ROAD MY AH GONG OPEN ONE!!!" then anyhow speed and ignore traffic lights.
I wonder why do PRC folks like to run down to Singapore and create trouble for us EVERY SINGLE TIME.
I mean like… We Singaporean Chinese who are not PR or foreigner are not called Ah Tiongs lah. Ah Tiong is referred to PRC Communist Mao Dynasty people.
But in all seriousness, this China guy killed an innocent taxi driver and most probably a tourist Japanese woman. Now, how are Japanese going to think of Singapore if this piece of news was flashed on Japanese news like NHK? Japanese people would think that Singapore is dangerous, people ignore traffic lights, have bad attitude bla bla bla when it’s not our fault. It’s someone of a different nationality.
Why does Ah Tiong people have to spoil the image of Singapore? Don’t get why.
