Heard of Taiwan 228? They also go through a long period before they are what they are now.

I had a Taiwanese colleague who look down on South east Asian countries including Singapore totally. But she is a nice lady as a friend. I saw how dramatic and chaotic taiwanese can be - and never have good impression of them until I visited the place not too long ago and found most of the people there are nice and helpful.
I used to be quite biase against mainland Chinese. Until I visited the country and again found most of the folks there to be nice and helpful. Some simple folks even warned us of how sly and cunning some of their fellow people are, and they too fall victim to them.
I used to believe most of the westerners agree civilized and friendly, until I went to stay there for a year...
Sometimes I feel paiseh to admit I am Singaporean when I saw how our own people behave overseas, and I am sure at times I made them feel ashame of me too.
It's the individual that matters, not the nationality.
I agree with you, actually most of the local folks in mainland China treat foreigners better than the China people been treated by the foreigners when they are in foreign countries, this maybe due to the chinese tradition \"should give guests better thing than own people\", but the western culture is just opposite.

I heard that the discipline in CHS is good. That may be another
consideration for my boy but he says he does not like CHS well we will see. What was the cut off point for CHS last year do you know?
This year (2012 S1 admission) (PSLE 2011) COP is 248. In 2013, CHS will go IP. So your DS can take th...

Aiyoh, no problem with weibo. :slapshead:

My thought is since happened in Singapore and involved Singaporeans and the local papers is a better place to issue apology rather then thru weibo.

Nothing against weibo, facebook, gmail or whatsoever......

no need so fussy with local papers lah ...... issue via any media will be picked up by the msm immediately

for a sampling, this news is reported in UK, HK, US, NZ, PRC, M'sia and God knows where else .......

The next thing they will say when apology is issued in local newspaper is that the apology comes too late, not sincere, too few words, too small in newspaper, etc. For goodness sake, the poor wife is pregnant and has a small kid, and has to deal with so many issues at hand now, leave her alone, it is no fault of her at all. Put yourself in her shoe if this happen to you, some more in foreign land.

What was not meant to happen already did. The family say sorry and that counts too. The living have to go on living. Live and let live…blame only the joker who HAD to go speeding in his fancy car at that kind of hours.

Maybe if the family can compensate for the victims will be good.
