limlim:
Can sue? But not family members' fault with such accident.
should pay from his estate right.. before it is passed to his family depending on whatever the will states, if any.BeContented:
In cases where the culprits are alive, they are penalised/fined/made to pay damages.
So in cases where culprits died (eg. this Ferrari case).....what happens? Can the court order the family to pay damages on behalf?
victims should sue. -
can sue
but PRC family most likely may up and run
want to track them down in China?
even the dead driver has been cremated.
you can’t even do autopsy
cannot even determine if he was drinking -
They got 3M condo in the east right? will take time to sell lah.

They no need to be around during the sale. Everything can go thru lawyer or POA if they choose to do so. -
true, but they can block the sale one lah - or put a caveat or whatchacallit on the sale proceeds.

The Japanese woman who died on Saturday after a Ferrari crashed into the taxi she was in has been identified as Ms Shigemi Ito.
Her family, including her parents and a brother, were spotted at a funeral parlour in Sin Ming Drive on Monday where the wake was being held.
Ms Ito had succumbed to her injuries and died at the Singapore General Hospital on Saturday, shortly after the accident.
The Straits Times understands that staff from the Japanese Embassy here had been in contact with her parents and helped the family collect her body from the hospital earlier on Monday. -
Joule:
whether his is drinking is immaterial..
cannot even determine if he was drinking
did you all watch the video posted?
it is quite obvious that the driver beat the red light (one wrong)
and some forumer calculated that he was speeding over the speed limit (two wrong)
And the taxi driver only move after the light turned green in his favor..
so, apparently, the Ferrari is liable. -

-- Never rush to drive off when the lights turn green.....always lookout for drivers who are dashing to beat the red lights. -
I also know it is 2 wrong but in my mind I just want to ensure that all wrong is counted
so autopsy, if drinking makes it 3 wrong -
Given that there are 6 accidents in the last 12 days in the same area??? Just wondering if the traffic light is placed in a "misleading" angle given the works? in that area?
