btw, can any mummy share about their experience in nan hua? is it really very stressful to have our child there? homework a lot? how are the teachers there? the Principal?

My son is in Pri 1. Homework still not at a level of concern. Maybe 1 subject per 3-4x a week max but as the parent abv mentioned. It’s the strict Chinese discipline that is a concern(not a bad thing) They hv a good mix of fun n learning journey (our time it was known as excursion). Principal is still pale in comparison IMO with mrs Lee who was the former principal. I served as a PV during her time and can see how much she engages with parents n students. Mrs Neo IMO is more cold and less engaging. It’s the teachers that I feel makes a maj diff in how the students excel along with parents. Now a days u can’t expect to have yr child in a school that takes all the initiative to steer the children. We as parents have a part to play.
Another point I’ve noticed is that the school drills and reinforce moral and civic values to student which I think is lacking in most children from 7-18. I think Nan Hua’s culture of its motto is strongly enforced and emphasise which makes me feel that its a good school of choice for my boy imho. -
Anyone who lives within 1 km of Nan Hua but with no PV? Will you try NH at Phase 2C? I have been invited to PV at QF and so if I opt in, I will be able to get in at Phase 2B with PV. What should I do?

You may like to PV at Qifa and register with this school during P2B. Come P2C, monitor the situation in Nan Hua and evaluate your appetite for balloting then. -

hihi...my boy is in P2 now, still not stressful. most of the time he can finish his hmwork within 1 hr. overall, hmwork is not a lot, even for school holiday if i compare with my friend's kid in other school. however, the chinese spelling can be quite tough...english one still consider simple...so far, my boy's P1 & P2 form teachers are very nice...as for Principal, din really interact with her b4 so cannot comment...dun worry, your gal should be able to adapt to P1. -

Thanks for the update. Looking at past years’ 2A2 records, high chance of the need to ballot in Phase 2A2 this year.

While you still have time, try to migrate to phase 2a(1), move up to higher level, safer ground.
