Singpost pilot run

TaQbin seems got quite good review leh…
Bought my iPad from apple store… they use tqb… check status, item shipping to Singapore on Sunday… On Monday, before I could call them to schedule delivery to weekend, the item already reached my place! just happened that there is someone at home to receive it.
Bought other item from gmarket… ordered on Sunday, they use tqb, delivered on Monday!
Bought HCP from gmarket. Item took pantos less than 3 days to ship from Korea to Singapore over the weekend, released from custom on Tuesday morning. Then, No updates liao… later found out that they use speedpost… took 4~5 working days to do local delivery to my place! And that was after I went chasing for it after the speedpost failed to honor their promise of "same day delivery" after collection of parcel.
Totally disappointed with speedpost! And yes… hotline manned by pinoy… -

I had twice very bad experience from DHL in a month recently too. I was at home and there were no notification slips!! I was dismayed to discover that the status online showed something like this: Attempted delivery but failed. Prior to this I waited whole day at home till night because the online status showed that item was with courier. Liar. I called and gave them a scolding. The courier told them he delivered. Geez, I asked them if he appeared at my doorstep, then where is the notification slip for redelivery? There was also no record from guard house! Two weeks later, I knew something was fishy when the online status showed another item was with courier in the morning but I didn't receive after many hours. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the online status stated failed attempted delivered again when I was home all the while. There was not notification on redelivery too. It was maddening. And it happened twice within two weeks. I never encountered such unhappy experience with them in the past. Very irresponsible courier.
same problem with FedEx -

What we share here is only our own experiences… no clear information of which is good… but almost certainly it seems singpost is bad… -

Signed, sealed but not (re)delivered
From Rhiannon Chu 04:46 AM Jun 26, 2012
SingPost has started to remove its redelivery services for registered bulky parcels. The addressee must collect the item at the nearest post office or get someone else to collect it on his/her behalf if the first delivery attempt is unsuccessful.
The collection timing is only from Monday to Friday and after 2pm from the next working day. If a parcel is not collected, it would be returned to the sender.
This is inconvenient for customers.
There is no call in advance to check if anyone is available at the address to receive the delivery.
Customers now have to carry heavy parcels home or appoint someone to help.
Five working days for collection is also not enough.
SingPost should abolish this system or at least give advance notice before making a delivery.

Wonder anyone from post office will response. Read that someone else parcel got to collect from another post office, not nearest post office, ask for another fee for redelivery? :skeptical: -
Postal service provider never buck up the service standard of the postal service… and instead venturing into loans and others…?
Transport provider SMRT never buck up the service standard of the train service… and instead venturing to rentals and others…?
When national provider privatize…
This is what the pple get…
Privatizing… that’s 1 thing I dislike about current Singapore…
Makes the rich richer, and the peasant suffers… -
