Wah jia lut ACS junior ballot liao! This year parents go all out to try. Going forward ACS j very fierce! Barker no hope ; too limited vacancies
Phtthp,
Where did you get the info that acs junior has to ballot? My understanding is no balloting at all, and all 54 seats are taken up by <2km. -

ACS Junior
76 registered, 54 vacancies
exceeded by 22. So what happen to these 22 who'd registered into MOE system? :? Why does the school still allow them to register, if they've no chance to participate at all in 2B ?
ballot or overflow into Phase 2C ?
are you very sure that none of the 54 less than 2 km is a .... PR ? :?
we're not talking about exceed by 1 or 2. But exceed by 22 ... is a lot.
if indeed all 54 within 2 km are all SC, how come the Registration Officer on duty never advise these 22, \"Stop ! we've enough, pls go and try other school, don't waste your chance anymore with ACS Junior ?\"
however if the 54 within 2 km are all SC, you're right. Those 22 have to come out (they won't be invited to ballot bec no more seat anyway), although i'm still puzzled why that Registration officer on duty never stop them from registering.
however if > 54 are all SC staying within 2 km, still need to ballot. -

Why do you think the school should stop the parents from registering? This is P2B and the phase is for parents who are PVs, GRLs, church/clan members, etc. So, technically, speaking, unless you are a GRL, you don't have that many choices during this phase. it's unlike P2C when parents have other choices.
Besides, for some parents, they will still go ahead and apply even if the school advises them against it. Your \"privilege\" cannot be applied to P2C anyway, so, just \"show hand\" lor.....

Based on Jass post earlier, the breakdown is 43 <1km, 11 <2km and 22 > 2km. I can confirm this breakdown is correct as I was in ACSJ at the close at 4.30pm and the staff announced that all 43 and 11 are in. There will be no balloting, so the 22 >2km have no chance. Regarding the 2PR mentioned, I am not sure if the staff has already taken into account. But I witness the announcement at 4.30 from the staff.http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/vacancies/#central

Regarding your question on why do they still accept those >2km, these applicants apply over the 2days, how can they reject? The numbers are consolidated as at Friday 4.30pm, then they are able to give the breakdown of distance and filter out those >2km and PRs. Hope it clears your doubt.
Btw, did you apply under 2b? What distance are you within?
Hi Jass, were you at ACSJ on friday at 4.30 to witness the result! If you were, did you notice that James lye was seated behind? -

did you notice that James lye was seated behind?
:? I thought he is ACSian and hence should go by phase 2a route. -

so is James Lye -
one of the 54 within 2 km, or one of the 22 outside 2 km ?
if 22> 2 km no chance to ballot at Phase 2B, they'll overflow into 2C woes (open to public) + PRs fierce fighting to come in ! Phase 2C Jia lut ! -
phtthp:
I know he was from ACS sec and ACJC, not sure about pri. Perhaps he was not from the AC pri. He looked cool and was busy looking at his phone. Not sure what is his distance, but overheard that the staff told him \"you have made the right choice\" behind he left. Probably 1-2 km, trying his luck at junior.so is James Lye -

I don't think these 22 > 2km will have a chance at phase 2c. Last year, within 1km already ballot. -

like that sounds like his son (Jake Lye) got in, born October 2006. -

to enter via Phase 2A:-
one must be an Old boy. No other way, not even $ can buy a 2A seat.
if Old boy from Junior - then can only go back Junior; cannot go Barker.
if Old boy from Barker - then can only go back Barker; cannot go Junior.
No cross over allowed.
if his primary school wasn't ACS Junior primary nor Barker primary, then no way to come in via Phase 2A route. -

Hi. I didn't realise. I was too disturbed by the 2 other applicants who were still waiting to register past 4:20pm. I was hoping they know what they are doing. And that explains why my live update increased from 41 to 43. And if you recall the last applicant who eventually did not register, I was panicking on her behalf when officer announced 4:27pm. Guess she knew she wouldn't want be registering at acsj.Based on Jass post earlier, the breakdown is 43 <1km, 11 <2km and 22 > 2km.
