For acsj, if there were 76 (<1km) who applied last year compared to 57 (<1 km) this year.
Similarly in SJIj, 22 places available for 1-2km this year compared to the need to ballot for <1 km last year.
51 applicants for SCGS is also lower than last year.
so overall, it is possible that the new rule has reduced the PR competiton for SC, though hard to prove as future trends need to be monitored. -

Wrong. Scgs last year 43 seats taken up by exactly 43 applications all less than 1km. This year 29 seats. 50 applications less than 1km. New ruling no help here for sure. -
Balloting next Tuesday for scgs phase 2C less than 1km.

Zeng:
This year the SCs had a lucky break in Phase 2C at SJIJ and ACJS as the rule change was only announced in March which doesn't give much time for the PRs to react. I believe the PRs will stage a comeback next year via earlier phases. They are a resilient lot.For acsj, if there were 76 (<1km) who applied last year compared to 57 (<1 km) this year.

You are likely to be correct. Strategies will change and in future, P2c vacancies likely to shrink further for popular schs unless birth rates drop. -
