I don't know about the fees from Nicklebee, but you have to decide what is the fees that you are comfortable with. If you are looking for Math Olympiad training, you might be looking at $50/hr or more.

So it really depends on the objective.

Another way is to get assessment books (with higher level) and let your kid practice. Look for those with detail solution and explanations if you kid is a self-learner.
Hello iwork, sorry not a regular visitor to this forum.
Nicklebee is charging $125/hr per student with max 4 students in the group. It's a 2hrs class, so each lesson is $250. :siam:

I have signed my girl up with Ammiel Wan Academy HA class (after reading some feedback from this forum). So far so good, although class size definitely bigger, she is enjoying. :rahrah:

Wow, that is too high. I will also do the same. Good that you found a better alternative.

NickleBee GEP preparatory class same price $125/hr? Or more expensive?

My friends messaged NickleBee Tutors want to join their math olympiad classes but mostly FULL! Must join waitlist!

Even the NickleBee mainstream classes also very popular.

NickleBee Tutors not cheap but so many students enrolled at their outlets.

How much is the Ammiel Wan Academy HA class? Is Ammiel Wan teaching? Need join waitlist?

Hi ggb, Nicklebee quoted me $250 per lesson, each lesson is 2 hours, for P4 level.

Ammiel Wan is $75 per lesson for 1.5hrs. And yes, Mr Wan is teaching, so you need to check his schedules. His centre has GEP, HA and MA.

Nicklebee runs full fast i guessed is becoz they only take in either max 4 students per session or 8 students. I've heard good reviews about them, if you are comfortable with their rates can give it a try.

Well, sometimes, it is very difficult to meet all parents' expectations. Some parents want more homework for the kid to practice, but some just want to keep them occupied in the centre, any may be just help in answering school homework.

Established centres usually have common worksheets for all students, so everyone will get the same, whether you can complete or not.

Go to a smaller neighborhood centre or private tutor, tell them your expectation.

As a Math Olympiad trainer, I don't give homework because I will let them solve all questions during session time, and go thru each one with them. The problem with homework is that you don't know whether they get help from who or where.

I have a student from one centre, and the parents asked for homework. At the end, it was done by the parents. I knew, because it was not her handwriting, and she happily told me that.

It’s been a long time since anybody talked about TLL. They are now very different from maybe 5-8 years ago, when the bulk of students in many top schools are all TLL students. Now you can only find a few kids in each class who still go for TLL, and rarely for math.

That's a clever pricing strategy. Attracts those who judge quality by price. They won't ever get a lot of customers, but those few who are desperate enough to pay will feed them sufficiently to carry on the show.

A liitle too late but if u guys are looking for good math enrichment programmes, i highly recommend myfirstskool. They provide worksheets that help students think and apply math concepts more effectively. My daughter said she enjoys answering the worksheet because it has vivid colours, pictures, and graphs! They also have topics about SG’s food economy and personal diet! These worksheets are awesome! Highly recommend!~
