Greetings to all parents and guardians who are still searching for a full-time result-oriented male educator,

Let me first give you a brief on the experience that I would bring along with me : I am Alfretz Tay, a full-time result-oriented educator with more 10 years of experience in coaching mainly primary and lower secondary school students in EMS and EM respectively. In addition, I also have more than three years of experience as a freelance trainer in conducting various enrichment courses, including Mathematics and Mathematics Olympiad enrichment classes, up to secondary two level, in more than thirty local schools.

For the record this year, I have successfully aided a P3 girl in passing her CA2 Math after she failed her SA1 Math. Also, one of my P6 students has consistently been passing his Math tests and examinations, attaining an \"A\" for his preliminary Math 2013, after his parents engaged me as his Math tutor. He had failed his SA1 Math in 2012. For the PSLE 2012, one of my students also scored \"A\"s for EMS while another scored B, A and A* for EMS respectively. Also, a lower secondary student managed to score \"A\"s in both 2011(Sec 1) and 2012(Sec 2) for Maths after attaining a \"B\" in the PSLE Maths. Further away in 2009, a student, the youngest of three brothers, scored A* for both Mathematics and Science and \"A\" for English in the PSLE 2009 and is presently studying in Victoria School. His eldest and elder brothers had scored A* for Mathematics and Science respectively in their respective PSLEs. Both are presently in NUS with the former majoring in Statistics and the latter in Bio-engineering. In 2008, I managed to successfully coach a P6 student to obtaining an \"A\" for his PSLE Maths. His mother had engaged me as his tutor after he failed his school PSLE preliminary Maths papers then.

My rates for P3 students are S$75 and S$90 for each 1.5h and 2h one-to-one lesson respectively. However, you could stop engaging me after any lesson if you find that I am not worth the rate that I charge. If you are still interested in engaging me as your child's tutor, please email your full address and preferred days and timings to [email protected], quoting kiasuparents. Also, all the parents of my students agree with me that in order to avoid any misunderstanding, I would collect the fee before I conduct each lesson.

      Thank you.

Warmest regards and have a wonderful week ahead,
      Tay Shuh Teck, Alfretz

Have you guys heard of JEIMath? I did some research on the net. Its from Korea. Saw some posting shared on Facebook about free diagnostic test for K2 going to P1. Test is suppose to identify gaps and access readiness for P1. Thanks.

Thanks BigDad. I made a visit to JEIMath over the weekend. The diagnostic test is about 30min. After that there is a computerised report which show the area of weaknesses. The report then prescribed a set books to address the weaknesses. The books are colourful, creative and interesting. The class size is 6 max. I signed up for a term. šŸ˜„ :xedfingers:

                Hi everyone.

Looks like I am not the only one having a hard time deciding on math tuition class.
My son is in p6 next year. so i m very 'kan cheong'
Had 1-1 tuition before but not effective.

I had shortlisted Concept Math and Visible Math/On sponge.

Both of them focus on problem sums.

I am still undecided and had been looking to mommies sharing fr more info.

However, after reading, i get even more confuse w so many other options like JEI PSLE, Mind stretcher šŸ˜ž

Wish all of us good luck in getting a good English/Math/Sci/CL ctr for our precious children

                      hi

i promised to come here to share my child's process since i ladt wrote here in july wen i enrol him at juz education (p2 math) after recommendations fr parents here.

he scored 87.5 for his final exam. i wouldnt say this is fantastic coz there are many students in the 90s range BUT hearing his form teacher told him and also myself personally that he has made improvement really makes the difference! šŸ™‚ thanks for the recommendation. he will continue with this centre for now.

i think one thing good is they start the topics 2 mths earlier than the sch, so its like a revision for him in sch. but the notes provided by JE is not easy, he always get like 60++. the sch paper is easier.

Perhaps your child needs motivation? My kids used to dislike studying. Finds lessons boring. Always hovering around 50-60s. No matter how I tried to encourage, motivate and even resort to bargaining. It just did not worked. I got my current tutor's contact through my colleague. Within 6 months, both my kids improved.

My P4 DS got all band 1 and maths was 94%. When he took back the paper I thought the school teacher had counted wrongly.

Till today I am still amazed and curious about what the tutor had done.

I'll pm u my tutor's contact Dmanor. Wish you all the best!
Hi fruittypie, can PM me your tutor's contact as well? Thanks!
