From what I heard from my colleagues, these branded schools expect (or hint strongly) that the child should go for intense tuition if he/she can't really copy in school. Cannot pull down the school standard right
My worries that such school are so competitive that a typical children will find it difficult to cope.
I heard its common for kids as young as 8, 9 to attend tuition lessons. -

Side track abit, for distance 2km balloting, it is the parents' registration address that matters, does the grandparents' address qualify? My children are being care by the grandparents.
you can read http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=476 to find out more about using relative's address .... -

Now that MOE has done their review, I see that Singapore citizens get priority over PRs but does this mean that all Phases remain the same?
Like Phase 1 - siblings in the sch, Phase 2 -Alumni, etc… remain the same? -

the changes made relates only to SCs over PRs. in each of the particular phase. Now that MOE has done their review, I see that Singapore citizens get priority over PRs but does this mean that all Phases remain the same?

And PRs in earlier phases still get in before SC in subsequent phases.
The SC priority over PR only applies within the same phase. -

I think There is still a loophole. For those PR knowing that they will be in 2C, what they need to do is to volunteer PV, then they will leapfrog to 2B and so call guarantee a place without balloting. MOE should also eliminated PV. -
Do you think there might be further measures in the pipeline?

But you are right to say that if after all SCs have taken their place in 2B and there are also places in 2B for PRs, then these PRs do get a place in the school before the SCs in 2C.
