Thank you! It was last 2 hrs that I withdrew from the Phase 1 school and submitted Phase 2C. Thank God no need to ballot within 1km.

The next update will be by 6pm on Friday, 5 August 2022.
Is it by this evening we will know which distance need balloting? -

Ya, the previous 2B was not as intense. Those were the days on the SJIJ and IJTP.
Hmmm all depends on the final # of under 1km folks balloting at the end of today.
I'm finally done with this P1 registration, got to use my only Phase 1 chance this time for my monkey girl. Luckily I have a Phase 1 to bang on else I would have been 1 of the 30 balloting for 27 vacancies in 2B

Looks like some 1-2km folks got caught. Some didn't withdraw for some reasons. With this info, odds for the <1km for 2C seems better.
Someone called to check and it was 30 applicants vying for 27 vacancies, the other 10...probably did not withdraw. -

I know, I am one of the few here who analyse stats here.
Thanks Lexy. For 2B this year there were 40 applicants for 27 vacancies.
If we assume 13 who failed in 2B are within 1km and try again in 2C and isolate them from the 82/54 - its 69 over 41 now which numbers seems to suggest worse off than last year even as we assume there are >1km applicants.
Note: We usually look at the worst while hope for the best. If we can stomach the worst odd, the rest is bonus. 13 who failed in 2B may not be all within 1km while maybe a fair bit >1km applied amongst the 82 in 2C. -

Last year was 57 applicants for 44 vacancies. I think you posted 2020 registration numbers.
What are the chances for CHIJ Toa Payoh for someone living within 1km to get in? Do you think there will be a ballot for those living within 1km?
Currently it's 82 applicants for 54 vacancies. Last year for phase 2C it was 49 applicants for 35 vacancies.
Given most 2B failed folks also fall inside <1km category, they will most probably try again. While there may be instance that more than 1km folks apply, I think it will still be more applicants within 1km than the vacancies. Chances should be relative ok, rough 1.5X. -

Worst so far are Northland, SVPS and PEPS. None came as surprise and not expected to be worse than last year.
Same for Chongfu as well. -

Last year SNGS was 3 times oversubscribed. With 20 more spots, and assuming those who failed in 2B will enrol again. we are looking at application of roughly 90 to 110, which should be slightly lower than 3x oversubscription. The competition should ease abit if not MOE's new rule may not achieve its objective.
Hi gurus, we reside within 1km of SNGS and failed in our ballot in phase 2B; we specifically rented for the school and now am wondering if we should stick by our choice and try again in phase 2C but the odds would be worst. Our backup plan is MCS but that would probably end up in a ballot in phase 2CS as well. Need your kind insights if we should push through and try again in phase 2C? Thanks so much..
Point to note, if you really want to go for SNGS, you should apply today. Sitting on the fence only create a false impression that the applicant number is low and encourage others to join in. If the odds is not something you can bear, you can withdraw.
On your backup choices, there are others like CHIJ Katong or SAC which also have affiliation for your consideration, but between the backups (including MCS), you can read them up after you have made up your 2C choice.
All the best! -
