      Hi Parents,

I heard there are usually 2 top classes in the mainstream. May I know what is the selection criteria? Does it go by the average of the four subjects at the end of the school year. If so, what is the minimum score to get into the good classes, above 85 or 90? or even higher? 😓 Thx in adv. :thankyou:
There is no minimum score. It really depends on the cohort. Historically, in p3 and p4, there are 2 top classes in the mainstream (rest mixed). In p5 and p6, there is best mainstream class, 2nd top mainstream class. Please note that BICEP is also considered as a mainstream class in TNS. These small group of students are \"selected\" end of P3 and will stay in the same BiCep class for the next 3 years.

Thx so much for the response! Isn’t BICEP part of GEP? Always thought those GEP kids who are strong in Chinese will be in BICEP.

If I am not wrong, there are 2 Bicep classes. One mainstream bicep and one gep bicep.

There are 2 Bicep classes in Taonan - the mainstream Bicep (usually is \"J\" class) and the GEP Bicep (usually is \"K\" class).

Not sure any change this year. Previous years, P5 and P6 classes are grouped by:
Top mainstream class (with HCL) - 5I/6I
                2nd mainstream class (with HCL) - 5H/6H
                3rd mainstream class (with HCL) - 5G/6G
Top mainstream class (without HCL) - 5F/6F
2nd mainstream class (without HCL) - 5E/6E... etc
