What is this new “Karma” index and what is it used for?
It has myteriously cropped up. Sounds sinister, what is it??? -
Member’s reputation.
It shows the number of times a member’s posts have been “like” by other members.
It is still in the midst of being implemented, thus expect some changes along the way. -
Yes, thanks tankee for explaining what it is.
Karma refers to users’ “karma”… ie. if you do good and people like your posts, you get “good” karma from other users. It’s like the Kudos system we have for the KiasuParents.com Portal, except this only works for Forum posts.
Remember, you can ONLY give karma… you cannot take away karma. So this is not intended as a user rating system. It’s more like a “rewards program”. Of course, if a user has a high karma value, it also means the user is well respected in the community because of the quality of the posts he/she has shared. -
Ooops, I will have to be on my best behaviour now.
This is a bit like a Net Promoter Score (NPS) index. -
Maybe consider to use a more neutral term than karma?
-

thks chief, was this karma added because of my suggestion and poll to implement “like” button?? -
