Why not....cop should be 258.xxxxx
I see
So the COP is not really a whole number
But a decimal point number.
Perhaps, woodgrove colleague's dd is at high end of 258, so got in by computer. -
Extracted from MOE website:
Posting Phase
1. How is the posting of students to secondary schools done?
In situations where there are two or more students with the same rounded aggregate score vying for the last place in a school, they will be posted based on their citizenship status (i.e Singapore Citizens, then Singapore Permanent Residents, then International Students). If there is still a tie, say between two Singapore citizens, the one with the \"higher unrounded aggregate score\" will be posted into the school first. If there is still a tie between two citizens with the same unrounded aggregate score, then posting into the school will be determined by a computerised ballot where each student is given an equal opportunity. -
my SMS came in at 10:57am…

Yup… right down to their raw score… if more than 1 kid achieved the same raw score, then it’s choosing citizens over foreigners, afterwhich further segregation by computer balloting if more than 1 kid got the same raw score again… which is actually luck of the draw lah

I guess next time when choosing schools can really put dream schools as first choice because no one knows when what will happen to the COPs, but anyways quite shocked about the COPs this year though…
-
Yes, a bit shocked too.
because first time encountered IP schools took in students, at 249 (below 250)
And COP for O level in some schools, also went down, by 2 to 3 points in general -

But don't understand ...OrangeJuice:
My colleague's dd - rgs 258
my friend's dd 258+2 didn't get into RGS...posted to st nicks IP instead...
woodgrove's colleague dd and Orangejuice friend's dd : both scored 258
If Rgs COP is 258 -
both girls should enter, together.
why Orangejuice friend's dd cannot enter, by computer ?
did she put RGS choice, before St Nick IP ?
In fact, my colleague's dd and her classmate both got into rgs with 258. Could it be an issue of decimal point? -

Hmm, I guess because the top 10% also dropped from 250 to 249. So COP 249 is still at top 10% for IP.Yes, a bit shocked too.
