        Hi champion & ruohoo97,
I'll be there for my #3 too...
        Let's prepare them for DSA
        Kiasu me :rotflmao:

How to prepare them for DSA? is it too late now to join anyCCA on \"performing arts\" in pr5 ? 😞 how to qualify for DSA ?

        Sorry :offtopic:
The quote was uncomplete therefore the confusion :?
        I mean prepare DSA for 2009 babies...PSLE 2021

For DC 2014 psle, no time to nurture to the level of DSA, unless u hv started long ago. For me & ds just study consistently...[/quote]Just to share that DSA is not only for P6 to S1. There is DSA for S4 to JC1 too. If you discover some talent on your 02 child only recently , it is still not too late to develop it. But if the child goes to an IP sch then no need Sec sch DSA.

According to the http://www.moe.gov.sg/media/press/2012/05/direct-admission-exercises-for-sec-sch-jc-poly.php, there are some 91 schools participating in the DSA exercise.

I'm not sure if most of them will be offering 'academic' DSA.

Just wondering, if your kid has been getting about 80% consistently, would you bother to try for acad DSA to a school with, say, 235~245 COP?

If it is the school that my boy really likes and above 240, yes, I will try dsa . Then if offered CO and we accepted , I will pull the plug on his tuition and spend the time to teach him how to self learn as results are secondary now.

                  Hi,

My niece did the above. She regretted later as she did better than expected in PSLE and could have join a better school.

Of course, if one decide to take this option, he has to be firm that that is the school he wanted and not because he couldn’t go to the ‘other school’ he wanted to.

Secondly, once having decided, no more ‘what ifs’. Coz with the CO, not only the kid but also the whole family will be blessed with the much needed PEACE. Also, it may be coz of this PEACE that one eventually perform above expectation. In life, one can’t have everything, ya? Like what I said…forget the ‘what ifs’.

:hi5: mine, too. Hope to learn from all the well-informed/experienced mums n dads.

Question: can a student apply into a SAP school if he/she did not take HCL? Alternatively, will the applicant be rejected or penalized if, having met COP but fail HCL? TIA
