I think it is because people were trying to bypass the 3 quote limit by just removing the BB Codes indiscriminately.

These 2 days if I use desktop and I don't login, I can see the board index but if I click on any of the sub-index, I get a page not found error. If I login, then I can see. Is this a intended feature ?


Also if I use ipad, if I don't login, I get a mis-formed URL when clicking on the threads, the http://www.kiasuparents.com is repeated so it returns a cannot be found error. If I login, then the URL is properly formed.

I noticed considerably slower speed in clicking from pages to pages ever since the upgrade.

That's because there are over a million records that our poor server is trying to store for people in order to keep track of the posts they have read or unread! We are going to have to clear these records tonight. That would mean that tomorrow everyone will be forced to relogin again. Apologies :imsorry:

between the inconvenience of ‘mark topic read’ and slow speed…I believe most user would prefer faster speed, after all ‘mark topic read’ will also be lightning fast, hopefully

Thanks radiantmum. Managing traffic and a web portal are 2 very different things. For one, you cannot reboot the roads and tell everyone to get off in the middle of the day

The performance is now back on par with the previous forum. Unfortunately, this means you now lose the nice features of being able to remember your last read posts regardless of which device you used. This setting was previously remembered in our database, which caused the very heavy load. The setting is now stored on the PC you used to browse KiasuParents.com.
