ah boy always beg me to let him have maggie mee (curry is his fav too)..which I allow at most once a month. he'll be grinning if he sees this.

            KiWee:
            1. My son withdrew his French in Sec 2 before the year-end exam

            2. My daughter withdrew her Japanese after 6 months into the course.

During the Sec 1 parents meeting, the sec sch said that most dropped 3rd lang due to heavy sch commitments.

Although we knew that it is very hard to sustain 3rd language course for 4 years, we let the kids go through the course to see how far they can go.

No harm in extra learning. But the text books are expensive, though the course iis free.
Thanks. Though humourously put but his is quite real

Mine also dropped Japanese after 3 months. Reasons:
              1. First few weeks: Love the lessons! But teacher very fierce hor?
              2. Missed one class: CCA teacher write letter to tell MOELC that she has got to stay in school for cheerleading. I was furious.
              3. Missed 2nd class: CCA teacher wrote another letter to ask her to help to some stuff... forgot what.
              4. Missed 3rd class: Competition
              5. Don't dare to go to Jap class anymore... teacher will scold and I will fail. Don't know how to catch up!

There is no emphasis or priority given to Third Lang. in school. So why introduce it in the first place?

I wonder how is this 3rd language programme funded? It seems like alot of students drop out along the way and I am sure any national programme like this was planned on a budget which relies on economy of scale. Does it mean that the programe becomes more "expensive" subsequently on a per student basis?
