http://www.southeastcdc.org.sg/Yes i agree. Phase 2b does not guarantee a place automatically. If we done all that we could and the demand is overwhelming at the end of the day, would still end up balloting.
BTW, does anyone knows how many executive members in southeast CDC? Since it encompassed many grc and smc, should be quite a lot of volunteers i supposed. Would it be harder to get exec membership?
enter your postcode at the bottom right corner. it will give you the details of the specific Constituency you fall under. then you go to the constituency website, they should have a listing of the NC and RCs there, and these listings usually have a name list of members. You can gauge from there. -
Hi all
I’m helping my friend to check about Joining the NC route, she is planning to move to novena by end of this year becos of the sch she wan to enrol her child in, and she know phase 2C may be tough becos the balloting.
Can she talk to the NC to tell them that she wan to serve the committee at novena zone, once she move will inform the NC…
Can this work?
Please advise.
Thank you so much. -

Hi Parents,
The term for all committees are two years. For YEC, the term will starts between July to Oct this year depending on the BGM while the term will starts will start in April this year for other committes.
You might want to talk to SCM directly as they are more open minded and well informed than chairperson.
So don't hesitate, just march to the community centre to talk to the SCM.
Just wonder do you know how long will a SCM stays in the CC? What if they do have a term period too, and by then if we needs the letter and the old SCM left... then :stupid:

once she moves in just contact the PA folks at molmein division (pek kio cc) and tell them she wants to volunteer at the NC and they will inform her of the date of next meeting and invite her to attend as an observer (assuming all criteria are met - e.g. singaporean or PR, address on IC is correct etc etc).Hi all

guys, i am on both RC and CCMC. i am passionate for serving my community only. i notice that most of our members have been serving the community for many many years. think twice if you want to join RC. we need people to serve the community. of course you will get some small benefits such as priority for primary school and hdb new flat priority for low income family.

Hi drking,
after reading your comments, can’t help but want to make some notes.
only parents who are concerned about their children’s overall well-being will come to this site and this thread. let’s face it, all of us are not angel. and of course, there’ll be parents who join RC and not contribute much. But if we can all take a first step to want to serve the community, for whatever reasons, to me it’s already a wonderful thing. And i’m sure there’re parents who are still enjoying serving the community even after their children have enrolled into their school of choice.
This thread is to assist parents to get more info prior to joining the RC and help them to determine if it is what they want. Remember that even if we’ve alternative motives, we still spend our previous time and efforts to participate. Plus, it is also a great opportunities for our children to get to know their neighbours and get involved in these RC activities and teach them many values such as responsibility, leadership, teamwork etc. -

Heard that being RC members would have 3 benefits?
(1) Free parking in the GRC? Like that good can save monthly season ticket.
(2) Phase 2B in Primary School enrollment.
(3) HDB new flat priority?
Those who intend to try the RC route better be careful, what if the electoral zone change? -

Couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks for your thoughts! -

bt do volunteer with an open heart. if you join for the sake of the perks, it would make yourself very tiresome from the 'work'.
