The 2 yr I mentioned is the minimum length that one may obtain the letter, but usually we encourage to start earlier to be very safe. So not 3 yrs. From observer to EM usually minimum 6 months and this applies to pretty active volunteers. Then you must fulfilled 12 months as EM. So 2 yrs is quite safe. But still for your case, it seems a bit too late for GRL path.Hi timtim,
For pei chun public school, i m targeting toa payoh grc. Central zone.do they have the same critetia as wat u have stated? Actually with yr critetia n timeline mentioned, i think i have missed that too.
From observer to executive menber : 2yrs
stay as executive member fr :1 yr
So to get that recommendation letter, i need to start involving myself since 3 yrs ago..my son was born in 2007..hai...sad...n i miss the school pv deadline too n this school gt no clan associated...

My hubby just got e EM certification after joining GR for only 4 mths. And the certificate stated its for e term until 31 Jul 2013. Our gal is born Y2007 & due for P1 reg Y2013. So anything is possible & it does not have to be in ordinary for 1 yr before promoted to EM.

hey Jav,
4 months become EM is extremely fast!
-
Yeah, I was surprised too!

For clarity, please advise:-
1. How long did the screening took before your DH was invited to attend meeting as observer ?
2. The EM certificate is dated 4 months from joining GR ?
Thanks. -

Hi Jav- can you pm me also. Which GRC do you belong? My ds is going to register in 2015 so if the period takes to convert observer to EM is short eg. Less than 1 year- then I will join later. -
4 months time - break record! is a direct express helicopter route. :rahrah:

It's not always to get the promotion in such shorter period. You still have a lot of time. Suggest u to call your RC / NC to check when is the term of appointment & how long to take for the promotion
