Hi anyone can advise… which rc do I join if I targeting Kong hwa and which other school is available to me if I join that rc?

Err…I thought you can only join the rc of the GRC which your residential address belongs to? Then you qualify for 2B for all the schools within that GRC.


So you can’t, say live in Jurong GRC, join a rc under Tanjong Pagar GRC because your desired school is under Tanjong Pagar GRC.

Was just wondering about this…

I know of someone who lives in Radin Mas SMC and is now a Grassroots Leader in Holland-Bukit Timah GRC using someone else’s address so his daughter has 2B eligibility into some of Singapore’s top schools. I believe they are targeting either RGPS or NYPS. Once the girl gets into their school of choice he will resign as a GRL and change his IC address back to his real one.

Is this permissible? Seems like cheating to me and worse than simply using a "fake" address since a grassroots leader qualifies for phase 2B for all schools within the SMC/GRC.

I also know a GRL joined less than a year in RC, definitely will not be qualified as phase 2B.

However, this person serves in The Meet People Session under PAP Branch. He said he will ask MP to provide a letter and present to the principal of that particular school.

If the principal is going to let them enter phase 2B, this will be unfair to the rest of people.

No, not likely given that his parent's flat is at Holland Village and NYPS and RGS are more than 2km away....

Is it ok to use your parent's address to join their GRC rather than yours?
