So should I volunteer under the RC In Radin mas or tanjong pagar GRC?

The info I gathered from experienced forumers from this thread is that you should volunteer in the GRC where you stay and subsequently be eligible to register your child in the schools within this GRC.

You should serve in the GRC/SMC where the school resides. But as you stays in TP GRC, you won't qualify for P2B even if you serve in RC within RM SMC (you will only be an associate member, not EM). Further more, you stays 1-2km from the school, chances low if it's very popular.

Does it mean in order to get the PA Eligibility Letter, you need to be an EM? U need to be in service for 1 yr in observer mode and assoc member and 1 yr in EM post prior to registration date? Must I need 2 years at least prior to registration??

EM is also called GRL. You need to be an observer first (not AM) before confirming as EM later. You need to be an EM for 12 months before qualify for P2B eligibility. 12 months is till 30 Jun of the year you apply for P1. 2 years is recommended as registration process can takes months before you even started as observer. The duration from observer to EM depends on many factors so it's better to cater more time.

Actually, if she were to qualify as a GRL, her chances at RMPS in P2B would be very good. So now, the issue is that she doesn't qualify as a GRL because she doesn't stay in Radin Mas SMC.

Thought of Going meet MP leh. no use volunteer in my GRC because there are already Schools in the GRC.

According to the MOE website, all the Schools under TP GRC and SMC are under bukit merah leh.

Hi, you can volunteer at Radin Mas SMC but must be with CCC or CCMC.
If you are EM with CCC/CCMC, then you will be eliglible to choose the GRC that you serve (Radin Mas) and reside (TP).

Having said that, it is not easy to be accepted into CCC/CCMC as most of the members are veteran. And no use going to MP cos there is nothing much they can do.

Hi, you can volunteer at Radin Mas SMC but must be with CCC or CCMC.
If you are EM with CCC/CCMC, then you will be eliglible to choose the GRC that you serve (Radin Mas) and reside (TP).

Having said that, it is not easy to be accepted into CCC/CCMC as most of the members are veteran. And no use going to MP cos there is nothing much they can do.

CCC/CCMC is like the Management Committee for the GROs, so as said, members are usually existing GRLs and co-opted in from other GROs. All GROs chairmen are auto members of CCC.

As mentioned earlier, you can volunteer in RM SMC but you will only be AM, not EM. I guess both are GRL but AM does not entitle to P2B privilege so if P2B is your main agenda, then you will be disappointed subsequently.

For GRL, the P2B privilege is by political boundary, so if school fall in RM SMC, you must reside and serve in RM SMC in order to qualify, unless you are member of RM SMC CCC/CCMC. Problem is you are not residing in RM.

GRL is about passion serving the community. Agenda is for 2B application, think will not serve the whole purpose.

Before 2008, GRL has to serve for 3 years before benefits such as P1 registration. Must as well join the school PV very clear cut and clear agenda.
