Don’t think people want to reveal because this is a very sensitive issue. Others who are not successful can complain to PA, make a big woo-ha and start flooding the forum.
They rather wait till July 25 and announce to the whole world that the kid secure with so and so school.

If you are referring to eligibility for P2B, then it's not possible since you will be endorsed as active community leader in Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC, not Sengkang West SMC. You can only go for schools within PR-P GRC.

Hi, you can volunteer at Radin Mas SMC but must be with CCC or CCMC.
If you are EM with CCC/CCMC, then you will be eliglible to choose the GRC that you serve (Radin Mas) and reside (TP).

Having said that, it is not easy to be accepted into CCC/CCMC as most of the members are veteran. And no use going to MP cos there is nothing much they can do.

Think there is a Radin Mas Community Centre so still got chance to join as Radin Mas CCMC.

But is there a Radin Mas CCC? Only heard of Tanjong Pagar CCC.

Not easy to get into CCMC or CCC. Unless someone from the committee recommends you.

One just need to do 1 year & clock 40 hours (typically) for PV

Whereas for GRL, one will probably spend 3-5 nights/weekends per month on community activities. One will probably start to serve 1-2 years prior to the registration and thereafter another 1-2 years before slowly start to disappear. When you are quite on during the 1st 2-3 years, they will ask you to become office bearer. Then it is harder for one to leave thereafter.

So if one join just purely for P2B registration. It is not worth it. You will burn alot of weekends

To be a GRL is not just for 2B. It is about serving the community and give back to society.

Thanks dorisp! I've been missing for quite awhile. Didn't know this forum has been so active...ya lah, it's this time of the year..ha ha. Hope I can help. As for me, I have stepped down as VC of my RC for the new term due to heavy commitments from my kids but I remain as EM to help in areas within my means.

Wah Lao... I want to slow down but kena appointed auditor for CCMC. Now there are rumors I may kena CSC VC or RC C. Must find a way to step down....

Did u guys check your eligibility in the first place...which I am sure you must have right?

CSC members have never been eligible for 2B. But most CSC members i know are also members of CCC, CCMC or RC.

I also know a GRL joined less than a year in RC, definitely will not be qualified as phase 2B.

However, this person serves in The Meet People Session under PAP Branch. He said he will ask MP to provide a letter and present to the principal of that particular school.

If the principal is going to let them enter phase 2B, this will be unfair to the rest of people.

I have friends like that to. Strictly follow rules. Must EM for at least 1 year. Appeal also got rejected.

Suggest you keep quiet about it. Most of those who hold immense power at RCs/NCs are old people who only want self-sacrificing volunteers with no hidden agendas. Got it straight from the horse's mouth so I know.


Why would someone with young kids want to spend weeknights and weekends doing stuff at the void decks when their kids need them more? Isn't it obvious that pple with young kids who join grassroots all have an agenda? Those old pple with grown-up kids just dun understand. :slapshead:

And if you want to go this route, you need to like menial tasks such as tying balloons to void deck pillars, being called to usher guests at RC dinners etc during your supposed family time.

PV at the school is a better option, really...

Actually I do bring my family for the activities. It is also a form of family outing.

Why need to step down? Aim for PBM mah?


Mostly my side GRLs here are aiming for PBM title. This coming NDO, wonder who will get it.
Sometimes, the MP has no far-sighted. Anyhow choose people because these people had organised big event in the GRC.

My side here, after getting PBM, serve about 2 years and ‘bye bye’ liao. What is the benefits about getting PBM?
Buying HDB has discount?
Applying bank loan can be approve even without job?
Get parking fines will be waived?
