They only confirm in 01 August 2011. However, they joined as observer 6 mths before august.

PA doesn’t know anything. CO still ask the chairman to do the recommendation.

I believe it also depends on the GRC. Sad to say our GRC has no good schools at all. Unlike Bt Timah, Toa Payoh, West Coast whereby they are surrounded by good schools. I think chairman also just signed, the school that these people fighting are only neighbourhood school close to their home. Nothing big deal.

I believe also depend on the chairman, whether he/she is a petty person or a ‘big hearted’ person.

To be safe join RC member as a beginner.

Phase 2B is only applicable to schools fall under your own GRC.

For example: let's say I am staying in Toa Payoh, I am only entitled to Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC. I can't apply Nanyang, SCGS, St Nicks, ACS, RGPS.
But I can apply just name a few good ones: Peichun, Catholic High

Is it confirmed that with the endorsement as active lader can apply ANY school under the same GRC? Is there somewhere that publish such info or is unspoken rule?

        Hi justdoit,

The P2b letter will indicate the GRC u are serving and u can only apply to those schools fall within the GRC.

You may refer to the link below which indicate schools belong to which GRC

I suppose these members you are referring are active members.

The way I see, if they are confirmed as members on 1 Aug 2011, I don't see why CO should not support them on their appeals. Since registration for phase 2B was on 19 & 20 July, which means their services are only 10-11 days shorter to be qualified and that's where an appeal kicks in.

I believe CO isn't blind. He/She would have seen their contribution made and therefore, request Chairman to do recommendation. Whether a Chairman with \"big\" or \"small\" heart, he can recommend but final decision will be made by CD and adviser. Doesn't mean Chairman recommends, CD or Adviser will approve their appeals. I have seen many unsuccessful appeals at my RC too.

By the way, since your neighbourhood has no good primary schools within your GRC, so which \"big deal\" primary school did your child attend previously? Good or bad, it's individual choice and maybe you should refrain from any sarcasm remarks.

Another update. 2 members were rejected by PA. The reason, these 2 people went directly to MPS and CD and they forgot to put RC chairman in the loop.

PA rejected them with the reason one year membership must be fulfilled.
They didn’t ask for RC supporting letters.
Whereas those members who are 10 months of membership are approved by PA because they ask for RC supporting letter.

If you are serving less than a year, it is possible to get an Appeal Letter with PA letter head, ask RC chairman for supporting letter.

You may check with the new GRC whether they still have vacancy?

We have a case that one member moved house and wanted to transfer membership. Unluckily, the RC that the member is going, has no vacancy for her and rejected her transfer. Not sure what is the reason. So she applied back to our RC, but again our RC is full too. She has to become observer status again.

May I asked if I stayed in one GRC and the school that I want to register is within 1km but is in another GRC. Which GRC should I join?? Does it matter if it is WP or PAP?

If you going by GRL route for P2B, you should join the GROs of the GRC that the school falls within, not by distance. Problem is as you don't reside in that GRC, you can't be an Executive Member (can only be Associate Member) and only EM enjoys the P2B privilege. As for WP or PAP, I am not sure about that, you may check it out but main point is not this now.

Alternatively, just go for P2C and hopefully stays within 1km helps.

                        Hi Tim Tim,

Associate member does enjoy the P2b privilege.
