But my understanding is regardless what n where u serve, u can only apply schools where u reside.

Yes, PA has changed the ruling to take effect for the 2017 intake onwards

        Hi,

I would like to find out the following from the experts here.

I am staying within 1km to Maris Stella High and have been serving in the local NC for > 1year. My son will be registering for P1 in 2015 (study in 2016). I think I m not caught by the new rulings where GRLs need to serve 2 years.

What I m concern is whether I can apply for the schools near my home under the old P2B scheme?

The new rules indicate that GRLs can only apply for schools within the constituency the GRLs serce. Correct me, if I m wrong.

        Appreciate all advice.

sorry to side track a bit… i am thinking to join a RC/NC too to do volunteering. I would like to know the amount of work involved in this as I am working. Roughly how many hours do we need to spend per day or week… thanks in advance for the information.

Can anyone advise what is the difference in the work and time commitment for GRL in RC/NC vs CCC/CCMC?

          Thanks!

You need nomination to go into CCC/CCMC. Default all go RC/NC first

So, if you are from CCC / CCMC -
on the last day of Phase 2B registration -
can they hop from Holland-Bukit Timah GRC, into Moulmein-Kallang GRC, to enrol in primary schools there ?

Just sharing my experience. For my NC, we have a monthly meeting to discuss about activities or issues for our estates. The meetings are conducted at night around 8pm.

As GRLs, we have to assist in various activites such as MP walkabout, assisting in fairs for residents, plan interest groups for residents such as KTV/Brisk walking, volunteering work for bursaries awards given by CCC etc. These events are mainly carried out over weekends.

I'm confused by all the short forms used.

What's ccc, ccmc and NC? RC is residents community?

                  So GRL grassroots leader.

So is it no matter which ccc, cc mc, RC or nc, as long as I'm in, in say kallang Moulmein, I can apply for the schools in that constituency? Is that how it works?

So next step, how to join?

dear, all, I browse most of the posts, but there are some questions still confused.

under the new ruling, I can just apply the school near our house within 2KM, but about the schools, does the school need to be in the community at the same time. for example, we live from rulang school within 1-2 KM, I do the volunteer in pioneer community, but ruling is in the jurong community, do I still have the priority in the phase 2B to apply rulang school?

my boy register primary 1 in 2017, if i apply the volunteer service now, is it too late?

                      Thanks!

As you are in pioneer, you can't apply for the school in jurong under P2B via Grassroot route

You will need to be confirmed as Executive Member before 30 Jun 2015 in order to be eligible
