      Dear all,

My child was born in 2019 and i registered my interest for volunteering work via PA website in Jul2022.
I did not receive any reply after 3 months so today I headed down to the nearest CC and met a lady who introduced herself as the manager in-charge of all condos in my district. I submitted the volunteer registration form on the spot and was told to wait further until end of Dec 2022 or Jan 2023 until the RN of my condo is officially formed (completion year of my condo in 2021). She also assured me that I have sufficient time to pass the probation period and finish the 2-year requirement for my child’s primary school registration in year 2025.
My question is will it be too late if i passively wait till Jan 2023? Since i read that we should estimate the probation (or observatory) period will take about half a year, and it is a strict 2-year requirement in order to get the recommendation letter. If it is too late, is there any other avenue I can seek help from to expedite my application for the grassroots volunteering work?
Thanks all the gurus in advance for clearing my doubts.

Would you consider to seek help from the MP in your district?

          Dear all,

I am currently a GRL with RN A but will be moving to a new address within the same GRC but with a different RN (ie RN B). Seeking guidance on
          1) whether I can get the phase 2B recommendation letter from current RN A (where I am a GRL) for applying to a primary school within 1km of new address (which is in the jurisdiction of RN B)?
          2) Does one have to be an executive member of RN in order to be given the phase 2B recommendation letter or can an associate member qualify too?
          3) for change of address, when do I have to effect the change of address in order for the phase 2B recommendation letter to reflect new address?
Thanks in advance for your views :lovesite:

            Hello fellow parents,

May i know where can i find the latest requirements to be endorsed as a Active Community Leader?

I am SC staying within 1km of choice of pri school and hope to increase my chances by applying under 2B phase…

Which website to check which govt organization i should apply to be volunteer? Also, is it all organizations GRC, RC, RN, NC, CC can accept volunteer to be endorsed for pri school registration?

Any ACL endorsed before? what is the commitment required?

Does the associate members need to be office bearers?
                The short answer is no.

I just want to clarify here that Grassroot leaders who are “associate members” can participate in P2B as well, not just “executive members”
Thanks for clarification and you are correct. Associate Members (AM) make the entire ratio thing more complex. On the max, we need 24 residents EM to have 3 non-resident EM/office-bearers and 3 AMs. I would usually give AM to ex-EM who have moved out and would like to continue to serve the community. Rarely, but it existed for me, I have one AM who physically resides in my precinct but having NRIC at parents' place.

In short, AM ratio also depends on resident EM. So if EM moves out before P2B becomes AM, total resident EM lowers and non-resident EM will be the one gets eliminated.

Correct me if I am wrong 🙂

Thanks. I will check on that. This person is a room tenant and goes back to stay with parents over weekends/PHs. I think is a matter of personal choice which one is the 'official' residence. Anyhow, is single working adult not requiring any of the 'perks'...
