If it's volunteer only and not for the purpose of getting priority to P1 registration, I guess yes. But do check, no all committes are accepted under this P2B registration. Pls check MOE website. Women's commitee is definitely out.

i cun find the site where it states criteria for community leaders...do they state there which committees r eligible?i joined many yrs ago b4 i was even married so duno know abt all these...

Q37: How do I qualify as an active community leader for registration at Phase 2B?

A37: Current serving executive committee members of the Residents’ Committee (RC), Neighbourhood Committee (NC), Citizen’s Consultative Committee (CCC), Community Club Management Committee (CCMC) and the Community Development Council (CDC) are eligible to register their children under Phase 2B. Please approach your Constituency Office for more information.

You can get detail info on the other eligibility of other committees by checking with the MOE or constituency Office.

You will not get the endorsement letter if the school is not within the same GRC. You may refer to this http://www.moe.edu.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/listing-by-grc/ for the list of schools within the GRC.

if i dun stay in the grc that i serve and sch is in the grc i serve, then i am an associate member, if i am very active, is there chance to become executive member, key thing is i dun stay in the grc that i serve.

I think to put it simply. If you are registering for a school using the RC route, the places are still allocated based on distance priority. For this reason, the RC you serve and the school you are targeting should be in the same GRC and you need to reside hopefully within 1km of the school of your choice too. If the school is a popular school and you are staying outside 2km (even in the same GRC), chances are you will not even get the chance to ballot.

thanks bishanmum, i am within 1km, just that i happen to be at the boundary cut off, my hse is not in the sch grc , n the rc belongs to the same grc as the sch, while i am not in the same grc as them, and thus i am only an associate EM, i wonder would i always be an assocaite as i m diff grc address…any rc member here can help me?
