I think the redrawing of boundaries will affect a number of parents who had chosen to take the grassroots road to phase 2b. Iām curious to know if MOE/PA/MP will allow any appeals to go through for parents who are affected and will be registering their kids this July.
Iām guessing they will not, as they would not want to open the floodgates. And I suppose in their opinion, parents still have the chance to register their kids in phase 2b - that privilege has not been taken away - though the schools available may have changed.
My sympathies to parents whose plans have been thwarted by this! -

Currently or in the previous GE, Yio Chu Kang was taken out as a SMC from Ang Mo Kio GRC, now it rejoins but Sengkang West got kick out. In any case, I still can't comprehend why Sengkang is still being divided into half (Sengkang West & Sengkang East) and can't be a SMC by itself which will make it complete as a town. Sengkang East is under PasirRis-Punggol GRC. Imagine just across a road and we're in different GRC. Weird.
That was on my mind all the time. The same for Punggol, now they split Punggol into Pasir Ris- Punggol and Punggol East. I wonder which zone does Mee Toh falls under. -

I can only say political boundary is always messy and make no sense to common people, except politicians.timtim:

I studied the map and it looks like RGPS, SCGS, ACPS and SJIJ (among other schools) are no longer in Tanjong Pagar GRC, but part of the new Moulmein-Kallang GRC.
ACJS appears to still be in Tanjong Pagar GRC. -

Those parents living in Tanjong Pagar GRC who want to send their girl to their choice school will be very sad that this route is goneI studied the map and it looks like RGPS, SCGS, ACPS and SJIJ (among other schools) are no longer in Tanjong Pagar GRC, but part of the new Moulmein-Kallang GRC.

After studied the map, I dun think they fall under Jurong GRC. Looks like got to wait for moe website to confirm. The boundary for Holland - Bukit Timah GRC is also redrawn. Potentially Nan Hua Primary School & Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary School will now falls under Jurong GRC
Looks like the parents here will have to eagerly wait for the details of where the lines are drawn to be out before they will know their fate -

Agree with you, timtim, and I notice Bukit Timah Rd and Dunearn Road, both opposite and parallel to each other, belong to 2 different GRCs all these while and it remained so with the current change.......... -
I believe MOE would be updating their website subsequently, on the List of Primary Schools by Constituency... currently this information is only correct as of June 2010.
http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/listing-by-grc/
Then you'll see people kbkp and appealing.... :celebrate:
